Thanks for posting that.

So it's a cable driven, direct to window crank system. Darn, was hoping to get it to work on the older no interior panel doors... ;)

Still a good setup for the later models. Any issues with stalling?

Havent done much to lately, did get my km2,s on and installed a radio ,cb 4 point seatbelts and put on some mirrors I could actually see out of. Just been driving it daily. Did wash it today :) . Thinking of pulling the sm465 and going with a 700r4 .

Camera died, soon as I get a new one Ill post some pics. The shroud is off a mid 80,s chevy truck. I just cut it in 4 peices and made some aluminum pltes to make it the right size I needed, has worked great and was only 5 bucks from the local junk yard. ......EDIT.....Found a old pic, you can see how I screwed the plate to hold the pieces together then i went back and pop rivitted all together. Have had no overheating issues since. (my 16 yr old son stuck the sticker on the radiator so I dont want to hear it)

Well my fathers been in and out of the hospital the last few months so I havent done anything but DD my 40. Now that things have calmed down some I sold the one 74 40 to a neighbor for 3500 just to get it out of the yard. I liked the green it was so I ordered the same color from NAPA. Also been working on my pig but now its time to get my DD ready for paint. Heres the one I sold and my pig.

Got the left fender and apron stipped and in etching primer and changed the bibb and bezel back to the older round style.. My Uncle is comming in next month from out west and is bringing me a set of factory soft top bows he has . hopefully itll be back on the road in another month.

all I can say is Sweet catch. I paid 1k more than you and probably at the same level. althought I have Rhino liner on 90% of the truck inside and out. not to keen on that, and I do notice we have the same NEG battery cable location. I am thinking of changing that for a better ground.

Nice project and your already 100 steps ahead of me with your rig.

Cheers

>>snip<<
so I pulled the top and installed some buckets from a saturn and a pontiac minivan rear seat.

Hey, nice rig. I got mine shipped by United Road down the west coast from Portland Oregon to Orange County for $500.

Hey,
Can you post pics of how you mounted your bucket seats, and especially how you set-up your rear bench? I'm debating going above the rear wheel wells to put in a wider seat that can more comfortably fit 3 kids. Much thanks and congrats!

Would you take a few shots of the AC compressor bracketry and post them? I think what you have might work for myself and others. IF you have a long water pump...if you have a short pump, then never mind! Thank you!

Cheers!

Time to fix the only really rusted spot. The always rusted rear sill.

I've got five FJ40 and two FJ25 with the original non-rusted rear sill. Must be a AZ thing.:hhmm:

So have the factory bows showed up yet? I remember at first you thought these were the early bow. Looking forward to seeing it with the soft top on. your doing a great job. Think I try and track down that power window kit. Looks like a pretty simple setup. I wonder if a guy could get the power locks from a 62 series to work.:hhmm:

:cheers:John
