Well I discovered a new PO presidential solution today. Drove across town and noticed the clutch was going out (had to pump it). crawled under it and saw the slave cylinder leaking pretty bad. Going home it was getting worse, tried to let off the gas and slide the shifter into 3rd when the whole shfter broke loose under the boot(made it in 3rd though). got it home with lucky green lights (what a thrill) and took the boot off and found the PO had cut the shifter for some reason and butt welded it back together just with a couple of tacks.Ordered a new cylinder and found a new shifter in the junk yard.

I found some green rattle can that came close so I painted the baby blue dash and tan windshield frame so it wouldnt look so bad. mounted some bumper lights, new fan clutch, and t-stat recently. Need to rebuild the heater and paint the inside.

Modified a fan shroud for the radiator. Now it doesnt get above 190 even idling in traffic (95 here). Went and pulled the aftermarket A/C out of a buddy,s 72 blazer. Whole thing cost me a six pack of Bud ! Putting it in next weekend , was going to do it this weekend but "She who must be obeyed :princess: " said I had too much other stuff to do to get ready for the 4th.

Well I installed the A/C today but didnt like the compressor so I installed one off a 84 ranger and a thin condensor out of a 86 ranger. Picked up a new reciever drier (pontiac with push on barbed ends) went by work and got my nitrogen and vacume pump off my work truck (working 4 10,s so off work today). Short story, I HAVE AIR!! Idles at 190- with the A.C on :) . Going to put the top on tommorw and install the power windows.

Cheers!

Congrats Dude! Getting ready to build my boyhood '74 '40. (learned to drive in it) I have a 76 that I'm selling for the same reason. However, I'm behind you I still have the frozen f in it and the Tranny that won't stay in third. A buddy is giving me the motor and tranny out of his'62. I'll probably put that in and wait for more money to do the SBC conversion right.

Really, man, congrats you must be stoked!
