So I just got back from 2 weeks on "vacation" in the Prairies (-35c) and had a call from my Machinist that the adapter was ready for another test fit. So I ran down and grabbed it and low and behold it bolted right on!

He was able to redo the two lower holes that got mirrored and they lined up great, the other holes where slightly enlarged to allow easy fit. One of the Isuzu bell bolts now overlays part of the Toyota bolt head so I need to play with that a bit. There is 10 bolts on the Isuzu bell so if one is not used I cant see it being a big deal, but there area few options.

Quick test fit picture.

Once I have my transmission VB back I can get the transmission bolted to the bell and then the engine. Once that is done I can measure for the converter adapter.

This week I am removing the ARB bull bar and winch as well as the rear tire swing out so I can fit it in my parents shop to start the swap. Hope to be starting it next weekend or at least have the shop all cleaned up and the truck in there.

Should see lots of progress here soon!

SaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaWeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet!

Just ordered my Aero turbine muffler and a few other exhaust bits 3" flex pipe and some clamps from this place. Best Prices around for the mufflers by far and good reviews.

Edit: That marked a big Milestone since its the last of the parts purchased off the list of known parts needed. The rest from now on will be materials like pipe and metal for brackes and hoses ect.

Ordered extended break lines today ($45 shipped from Rock auto) to accompany the Slee 4" lift that is going on. I worked a trade with a friend for his Ohlin external rez shocks and Slee front 4" springs in exchange for my OME 2.5" Heavy/Med lift.

I still needed to get rear 4" springs and caster plates so I ordered those today as well.

Reason for the 4" lift is with the weight I have added to the stuck (Bumprs, swing outs and gear) its sitting quite low. I have been having a bit of tire rub in the front of full bump as well. I have 1.5" spring spacers for the front but my real issue was in the back with the med springs. With the Isuzu I knew I needed a bit more lift so that is why I got the 1.5" spacers but I was still left with a sagging rear when loaded. The 4" slee springs ride awesome and really make the truck feel like its not lifted at all. The Ohlin shocks I'm sure will only make it better. I will need to also lengthen my Panhard bars once the list is in. I plan to just sleeve the panhards do not see a need for adjustable.

Anyone want brand new Metal-Tech 1.5" front springs spacers?

Sounds sweet and the new shocks will only make it even sweeter. I haven't had the time to install my OME coils yet so I'm not sure I'll need spacers, if I knew for sure I'd take them.

That's funny you should offer them spacers up. I've been meaning to get a pair for up front. Let me know what you want for them. It will give me a reason to come by and see how things are coming.

No problem Gerg, let me get into the swap a bit and you can come down and get them. Maybe in a couple weeks. Not looking for much think they cost me $170 shipped but we will work something out.

Nice to see some more progress here. You could have at least taken some of this crap weather with you when you left though, lol.

No you can keep it!! I'll take rain 6 months of the year over that any day! Lol

The adapter looks good, it will be nice to see this get bolted up together. Hope I can finish my truck before you do yours :p

Yes its turning out well, hope to have the trans adapter bell and engine together in the next two weeks to make sure its all jiving. I have at least 2 months of work ahead of me you will have no issues being done first.

So a couple updates as things draw near.

The other night I stopped by a place that had a good selection of hydraulic supplies and got a filter head a Donaldson 10 micron absolute filter and a tee for the transmission filter setup. I plan to plumb it as a bypass filter on the cooling circuit so a small amount of trans fluid will bypass the coolers and run through the filter back into the pan, the flow will be controlled via restricter in the filter head. I still want most the fluid going trough the coolers. the way I have this pictured is after an hour or so of running all the ATF would have going through the filter at least once. The nice thing about this is I do not need to worry about the filter getting clogged and causing issues with no cooling or a blocked cooling circuit all together.

I also got a few components for the glow plug system. I want a total hands off system with some logic. The Isuzu 4BD1T does not require glow to start unless its below 0c (I have actually started it below that fine with no glow). I wanted a system that was cheap easy and simple to wire. So I found a thread on 4BTswaps about wiring up grid heaters and found these parts linked. One is a an adjustable delay on/off circuit board and the other is a adjustable temp circuit board.

Variable delay on/off board:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/1CH-DC-12V-...050?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3a89509dda

Thermal relay control again adjustable:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/DC-12V-1-Si...e-Switch-/251370485494?_trksid=p2054897.l4276

So the plan is to have the ignition switch 12V+ signal go to the temp circuit board first if the temp is met (going to set it for about 0c to aid in starting) then the board will send 12V+ to the variable time on/off board witch will be set for 10-20sec glow (will need to test the plugs to see how long they take to get hot) and they will power the glow plug relay for the set amount of time. I am also going to wire in a light to the dash so I can see when the glow plugs are on.

Should work a treat and make this whole process very simple get in turn key and start or wait if the glow light is on then start.

Nice part with the on/off circuit is I can adjust the glow time if I am going to a cold area that will require longer glow. I think this circuit is adjustable up to 1 hour. Having the glow plugs not power when not needed (temp) will also take a load off the batteries and charging system.

I also got the ARB bumper partly unbolted last night in preparation for the move to my shop. I plan to leave the bumper in my home garage and save space at the shop.

You should be wrenching right now!

I was......the swap has officially started.....all be it minor.

Taking the front driveshaft off tomorrow AM and then on to the dyno for a run. Just to get an idea of performance from one to the other.

Nice horns by the way. If you want to upgrade, my dad has a set of horns off of a train sitting in his room at the Menno home. They are up for sale as he can't find a use for them. They occupy the space of a small chair, so you might need to find a different mount location...the roof would work. You would need a bigger tank me thinks too.

Thanks! They work great waking poeple up at lights and the non stoppers. Also worked well when the truck was broken into.

Always looking for bigger horns, got some space to play with. I have 2.5 gallons of air right now and hope to retain the York OBA. Should get onegood blast out of them.

Christian V would probably take that off your hands

It depends what they are from ;)

Now if only I can fit all mine :p

/\ train nerd ;)

Today I got the front driveshaft out and down to the dyno. Did it in 2WD and made about what I was expecting.

Again this is just to get an idea of where I am pre and post swap. Not expecting to pick up a lot if any power with this swap, more a range and millage thing. But I want to know instead of " well I think it better" approach.

Its getting the underside washed down with a sprinkler now for a few hours then into the shop.
