Houston, We have a problem

Paint dry, axle under set on springs and everything lined up just right ubolts and bolts all hand tight , wheels and tires mounted on hubs , :grinpimp:

well going from 12" to 13" was a great idea but :whoops: there's no room for suspension flex, got a inch from the top of the wheel well with no load on the leafs

:hhmm:

:idea:Well the trailer is getting a spring over .

Nice build. Reminds me of my family's only marginally bigger (14'?) trailer build back in '68. We managed to squeeze 6 people in it to sleep after not too much work. I was a lot smaller back then:rolleyes:

Ordinarily, I'm all about keeping the center of gravity as low as possible in a trailer. But with 13" tires, I think you owe yourself a guilt-free spring-over.:D

just checked the last few pages of yr build: great work.

where'd you source that semi-flush mount FE? Do want.

Or higher spring perches?

Murphys friggin Law never takes a vacation day...

How much clearance was there to begin with?

How about cutting the top of the wheel wells up higher?

The mount came from the parts pop up I bought . They should be available thru the local camper parts stores.
My old Jayco pop up had one ,so does my StarCraft and the coleman did too so its a common item but havnt been able to locate it in my parts web sites
Heres the info on the FE
5-B:C Fire Extinguisher-Bulk Pack w Bracket

My google fu is letting me down today on just the mount (looks like its made for the RV market though)

I'm back in business

the big brown truck has my spring over/under kit so I'll be able to play this weekend :bounce:
having it out of the garage so I can work will make it much faster work during the nice days.

trailer is now sitting on its new axle rims and tires .
Its now sitting at least 6" higher then when it was on the 12"
I went from a 4.80x12 to a 175/80D13
I will no longer need a drop hitch as I now have a 24" tongue height :hillbilly:

tomorrow I'm helping Cruise4070 get one of his rigs ready for CMCC then Sunday and Monday will be trailer work days .

watersealed

the trailer got to see the great outdoors to get sprayed down with water sealer and I got to see how high its sitting now

now for the pixs

That baby is screamin' "Tow Me!! Tow Me!!"

At least down to Billy Bob's Mountain Retreat and back...lol

Looks awesome T'Man

while the cruiser :princess: is out picking up more supplies
Heres a couple more
The PVC molding seems to be 100% better for the outside curve . It used to be just a crappy piece of wood with relief cuts in it which made a really warped flimsy uneven curve .
It wont rot and easy to repair .
also here's a pix of the tongue height (never thought Id be using a non drop hitch on the van )

Finished the wiring for the rear lights and put the foam insulation (all of the foam cost me just a pizza :grinpimp: )on the sides .
I stopped since the heat has been wonderful again this weekend and I think I cooked my brain ( Feels like it wants out thru the back of my head and front at the same time :crybaby: )

Heres a few pixs ,

Right there with you today buddy...this heat is a real SOB

Man, the the flexible strips look like they were the ticket, curves look great!

Youn re-useing the old siding or doing something new?

Axle looks awesome, what a stance difference.

Forge on!!

Pat

Looks good koffer.
Though you may want to wait to side it because the frame is probably swollen another 1/3 because of this damned humidity.:p

Yeah it was a little bit sticky out , I just about had to cut my jump suit off when I went in to shower the grossness off ( its bad when you notice yourself and say out load " man you stink" :o )
If its going to be this nasty , I wish it would at least rain

Nice Canned Ham project, shell is worth what you paid for both. us older folks used these as hunting cabins after the parents were finished travelling, spent many an hour pondering during those years, Have fun with it, and good purchase.

Wow Todd!

Haven't been in the trailer section for a while and you have this thing in the works! Awesome! I am envious of hard side trailers now that I have been using my RTT set up a lot.

What you have done is really something

wow that thing is comin along great! you may have steered me into the direction of an old travel trailer project
