I have ordered a part from them and have no response to the order except an acknowledgement email. Dec 23 order placed, several emails to request a status update on the order, no response. Site looks nice, lots of cool stuff, probably got scammed. They took my money, but I have to call my credit card to get it back, what a pain.

Thanks, this guy seems well liked at least and is not trying to rip me off. I will still get a refund, not interested in waiting until he feels like doing it. Maybe he should hire an assistant or someone to handle his orders and shipping. I will not order from that site again, no matter how temping.
 
I’m having the same experience, placed an order on 12/27 and was charged 12/28 with no updates or responses from my emails since. I’m sure he is trying to get caught up from the holidays but the lack of communication is inexcusable.
 
@tarheel40 It is such a shame, the stuff he sells looks so nice in photos. I like dealing with Cityracerllc.com, legit stuff and never had order delays or issues.
Agreed. I really want to support Matt, and his products are of high quality. But every. single. time. I have ordered from him it has been a teeth-pulling epic to actually have the part sent . . . long, long after I was charged. For years he's had a notice on his site that he's "catching up," but he never does. He seems to spend more time on the forum creating page-long posts with photos of the latest "Snow Version" of something or other, rather than filling the damn orders.

And yes, in contrast Roger at City Racer is always prompt, and sells equally high-quality goods. Well worth supporting.

i miss creating page-long posts with photos of the latest "Snow Version" of something or other, i can't recall having any relaxing hobby-time like in a long while , any free time i have involves a tape gun in 1 hand and my Milwaukie red-flip-switch-blade in the other ...

Seriously, Matt, we want to support you, but all we ever hear is excuses. A little mea culpa would go a long way. So would shipping orders within a week or so after you charge your customer.

Matt, you have not had an order from me for some time; I believe the last one was a set of metal window cranks and that was probably a year ago anyway. Before that a voltage regulator. Check your archived PMs here and you'll find me. Why no recent orders? Because, as I suspect is the case with many others here (such as the originator of this thread), it just became too discouraging to deal with you. You're missing out on a lot of business because of all the issues you see solidly documented in these posts, which undoubtedly warn off potential new customers. I'd love to order from you again, as you offer many really excellent products for owners such as myself, but I will not do so until I have firm evidence that you're shipping orders in something remotely approaching a reasonable time frame.

It seems that Matt deleted several of his posts, including the one in which he called a fellow IH8MUD member a liar. I do hope he gets his act together; he could be a huge asset to our community.

He seems to have half of mud (including myself) on ignore so I doubt that. He didn't take kindly to some comments I made in his portal thread which is where he probably wants to direct all of the posting regarding his lack of customer service so he can try to mitigate some of the negativity by putting people on ignore, blocking them from viewing the thread and/or adding more comments to it, etc. Maybe it gives him some kind of power trip. Who knows.

At the end of the day, the reputable vendors of ih8mud handle most of their business (especially pending orders) through emails, DMs, and through their websites. Don't really understand why he has to have a thread dedicated to that. None of the other vendors do that.

The best part of being on his ignore list is I don't get to see his snow version photos/posts. Never will buy anything from him at this point anyways.

Ah, so I've joined the "Ignored by Matt" club. Too bad that is his only recourse, rather than replying with something like, "I see these posts and the 'likes' on those posts and I've finally realized I need to do things differently. My apologies to all who've had difficulties ordering from me in the past; in the future I promise to make a real effort to do better."
 
He did message me after seeing this thread to ask my order number. I told him and he replied he would get back to me. A couple days and he has not, I guess it’s still going to require a dispute with the credit card. He may not be a crook but certainly is never getting more orders from me. I’m actually surprised he is allowed to do his marketing here, bad for everyone.
 
I have never witnessed a longer, slower, more painful trainwreck in my life.☹️
