Is there a new Safari Snorkel design

One weekend in vegas killed my intake filter without a snorkel...SOOO dusty. Still looking to find the pre-cleaner head.

I'll stop by their location posted on the website when I drive back to NY. :steer:

On the modding the new snork for the antenna, yeah there's two way to go about it. Heat molding it and notching+re-sealing it. I'd probably experiment on the heat molding first, not sure how much heat is required with these heavy duty plastics. Cutting and sealing might be faster in the end though.

I'd use an air gun welder to do it - not a flame source type.

wait, not a

As others have pointed out, height is more for dust than water.

As for diesels, their "waterproofness" really applies to older models, before computer controlled common-rail direct injection. Newer diesels are, IMHO, just as susceptible to water as gassers (mainly because of the computers).

Give me an old mechanical injection diesel any day, and run it on B100 or vegetable oil!

Alot of the electrical connectors under the hood of the 100 look like the Duetsch Connectors that are on our boat.......all of which are "supposed" to be water tight.....and made in germany:hhmm:

The connectors on the interior could be a weak link though.....

If it's mechanical, make it in Germany. If you're doing electronics...please have denso make it in japan.

So here is a question, let's say I don't care about radio and don't want to make a dent in my new snorkel. Do I just remove the power antenna all together during the snorkel install? Does the snorkel cover up the antenna hole completely?

looks like it covers 3/4 of the hole. Hah, people used to complain about putting a manual/fixed antenna, now its not even putting it in.

I heard on another forum that the newest Mercedes G-class trucks have Denso electronics, not Bosch...

Thanks for posting those up Travis.

is it possible to relocate/mount a manual antenna on the driver side fender?
