Headgasket is what I'm trying to avoid as well. Looking at the headache it is to change out the headgasket, looks like taking the engine completely apart, I'm just going to swap the engine if the head or transmission every blows. As I don't have any money with Covid right now, I've been doing my preventive maintenance. I did the radiator as I assume it had some crud/buildup in it from the last 22 years.
 
Somehow I think you've made an error in your temperature readings.
148C=298F - The ECU will cut off the AC compressor around 220F to reduce load on the engine.
160C=320F - Your motor has liquefied.

If you meant to say F, then 148F and 160F is below normal operating temperature.

Yea, you are right. That is not a SpaceX engine.
