Well, I got rear ended today. All that happened to me is some scratched up powder coat.

I told him I have come off ledges that have banged the bumper harder. Phil can attest to that.

He ruptured his radiator and did a good submarine job going under the bumper.

Just as I thought, a small car would go under! Check the stuff under your rig, like the e-brake cables, etc, on the back of the axle.

:whoops: looking closer, it looks like he hit off center, the passengers side of your bumper up the center of the hood? Did his bumper hit your tire?

I've actually been kinda worried about this, since it seems like a small car like that could end up doing a lot of damage to the truck by slipping under the bumper?

He may of hit the tires, but his bumper was mostly untouched, no marks from hitting the tires. I didn't see any evidence for it either, but I had to move the truck before I got a look.

There are no signs of contact on the axle or the panhard. The booty fabbed exhaust hanger shows no sign of contact either.

I'll check for more subtle contact tomorrow.

I will say, I use to have some sort of strange unloading spring noise going over speedbumps and around turns. I didn't notice it tonight. :hillbilly:

I guess this is something to think about.

So the bumper is pushed up and back in the center from the last rear end accident?

Maybe, I don't think his bumper really took much damage, ie direct contact. I think his bumper lightly grazed my bumper as he went under causing it to rotate clockwise when looking at it from the driver's side of the car. This mild damage could have been caused by hitting my tire, but the exhaust shows no contact and his bumper didn't show any damage or marks like I would expect to see if it hit the tires.

He was in full lock up when he hit so his front end was compressed. When his forward momentum abruptly stopped his hood took most of the force as his struts tried to unload. His hood damage (big gouge) coincides almost directly with the center of my bumper under the receiver, so not much offset

I am very surprised how far he went under. Like I said he was in full lock up so his front end was pointing down when he hit. Add a lifted truck with a low profile bumper and you get a Honda subducting under a Land Cruiser. :D

How are you doing? Sometimes stiffness takes a day or two to show up.

The stuff under the truck is pretty hard and it doesn't need to be pretty when its fixed. Beats fixing all that :princess: sheet metal.:hillbilly:

Can you imagine the damage if you still had my 5" drop hitch on your bumper. That car would have been F'ed.

Well, the rear bumper ate another Honda Accord. I didn't have my phone, so no pictures. I am surprised this one could still drive, the radiator was bent back, but no leaking. This was a new Accord and I think it will need an entire new front end clip. This one didn't subduct under, but crumpled.

I think the powder coating was scratched, no other problems.

No bumper damage but how is your back:idea::grinpimp:

go sue someone  it's the American way ;p

I felt sorry for the other person. It was totally her fault as she was playing with her cell phone. I was with my eldest daughter and we don't feel anything amiss. Frankly it didn't feel like much of a collision, I'm sort of surprised by the damage to the other car.

I will say that bumper is stout
