Is it me, or do some paint colors on 60s just do not look right?

Red is one of my least favorite FJ60 colors, yet I drive a red 60. The color is growing on me because it's faded, scratched, has a few surface rust spots, and is taking on that patina that speaks of a Cruiser that's been used. IMO shiny red does not belong on a 60.

I often stop to check out road kills, especially snakes. The hood has a blotchy stain of rattlesnake blood from the time that I picked up a dead timber rattler to take home to show my kids. The stain will remain. I don't remember the last time I washed the 60. Doubt it'll ever be repainted but the rust spots will need to be touched up.

That's a bad ass looking red rig. I wish mine would decide to be one color instead of faded in areas and shiny in others. I can't remember the last time I washed mine either :smokin:, I usually wait for the rain.

Yup I stand corrected as well, kickass high roof for sure.

D

I was thinking of having the side of the 60 painted a custom under water ocean seen with killer wales, sea lions, and all the native species to our area on the side of the truck:)

Yeah, sea lions and pretty fish are nice.
But this might be more suitable in the hood.
Not sure how well it would wrap with an ARB bumper though...

Mr Tibbs, how did you get a JDM truck into the states? Anyway, it looks great very very clean. Keep your eyes open for another 60. mine is getting tired lots of corrosion in the frame, body, some body damage. easier just to do a diesel engine swap "I may be looking at a 62 this time" just because it would have less miles then a 60 and a little more modern.

Really??:(

If I ever have the chance I'm thinking either painting it all flat gray or two tone gray/black.
The only thing with your paint job is i would be so scared to scratch it so i would wimp out as soon as i seen a narrow bush track.

Scared of what? I detect a twinge of jealously......These beast's are bred to go down narrow bush tracks regardless of the shine. Didn't paint this beaut to sit in the garage, I just thought beige was boring!!

Meh, I bought it to use it, not look at it! Black is never clean anyways, might as well use it! Lol
