Is anybody still interested in a center console? (1 Viewer)

I know I would like the shifter console bare steel for sure if it’s available.

Ok I'm going to put a stop to this right now:

We will not be offering these uncoated. What we NEED to do is offer the best possible product we can to the market place. I am not going to have people not painting/coating something and then coming back to me (or the internet in general) complaining about how our product didn't last.

I am not saying that is what you guys who are requesting this would do, but it just sets a precedent that creates huge amounts of work down the line.

You are more than welcome to paint over the powdercoat. It works GREAT as a nice, strong base layer.

What do you mean by cover?

To cover the lid with leather/padding....and to possibly TIG weld some stuff on it like custom cup holders and a tray inside box... no powder coat for people that want to custom it to fit there needs...

It's going to come with all that stuff, or at least have those as available options.

If you have the ability to do anything like that then why try tell a company making awesome products for our vehicles that they "REALLY need" to offer the product differently then they intend? Just make your own.

I'm really looking forward to this product's release, and I'm glad to hear that a lid with leather/padding will be an option.

I wonder if metal tech has folks not understanding that bare metal rusts...

Extra work? The guy who chips your powder coat and has corrosion is far more likely to bug you down the line than the guy who asks for it raw to coat himself.

I am 100% in on one of these. Honestly don't care what the price is

The first thing I noticed and the the thing that constantly annoys me the most about the 80 is the lack of a place to rest my right arm

Nope, sure haven't. I will be posting it here as soon as I get invoices from all our vendors, trust me. We have to get them powdercoated before we know what it'll cost.

No complex jigging for these things, but special tools are needed. We have a strong policy of not sending stuff out un-assembled since our name is on it. We function test and make sure everything works correctly as much as is feasibly possible since anything that moves is far more complex when it comes to assembly. The shipping cost savings would be negligible anyway on something this small, especially when the shifter console in it's "un-welded" state is the same volume, and the center console would have an identical 3 out of 4 dimensions.

4 dimensional packaging? Not even wits end has managed that!

A couple of the smaller details of the shifter console. The reason we chose aluminum for the gauge/switch panel and backer plates is so it can easily be filed down to fit almost any switch.

The holes near where the power/2nd button would normally go are specific to OEM switches, but can be filed away easy enough:

The little center notch is a guide for how far to go.

The faceplate has little nubs that are much easier to file off (couple swipes with a nice file should do it) so you can easily mount OEM, Carling, or some offbrand whatever in there. They also fit the Mictuning dual battery gauge that is in the shape of a switch and is super handy:

Will the only two available faceplates be the 2 gauge/3 switch one and the blank one?
that's all we've made so far. will have one that is all switches too, and will start a poll thread for another option or something.

Totally forgot had a couple made with 3 gauges for the 2.8 build we did.
