From what I’ve found on here it appears I would need to remove a couple baffles at a minimum. Has anyone else used one? I’ve a friend who’s selling one cheap but don’t want to hack it up if it’s just going to ruin it.

When I looked at SOR there was a break at 5/82. From there to 86 was different

Looked again at SOR. They sell an OEM pan that fits 58 to 8/87. That makes it sound like an 84 pan would fit however further down they list a used oil pan that fits 6/76 to 5/82. And another used pan that fits 5/82 to 8/87. ???

12101-61013 is the newest 2F oil pan part number still available from Toyota.
It is backwards compatible with all 2F engines back to 1975.
Make sure to also get 90341-12012 drain plug and 90430-12031 drain plug gasket since the new pan steps down to the 12mm diameter drain.
You will also need 12151-61011 pan gasket.

I understand that I can buy a brand new oil pan for $300 bucks with a special gasket and special drain plug and special drain plug gasket. That’s not what I’m asking. What I don’t know is whether a used oil pan from an 84 fj60 with a 2F will fit on a 77 2F without major modifications
If you also use the 1984 Fj60's qty x 22 90615-40820 1984 FJ oil pan bolts , @Onur 's precise prediction may happen and you will do the messy 6 rolls of paper towels EXXON Valdez Job 3 times ........

so its really simple ,
you can risk certain DOOM with a used 36 year old crusty oil pan , or the latest in Teq design to save the cost of qty x 3 full synthetic mobile 1 oil changes ........
i personally would NEVER entertain any used oil pan ever any where period , unacceptable risk assessment in my mind ....

The issue is the baffles hit the pickup. I have easily modified one. I have installed several used oil pans without issue and easily modified an early one to fit.
If I recall there were three different baffle arrangements that I discovered.
I apologize that this does not answer your question about year break down but if you do not have $300 to blow on a new one, the mod was easy.

I will be replacing the pan on my '77. I have the 12101-61013 pan, but the gasket is 12151-61010, not 61011 as you mention. Will this gasket work? I'm having trouble finding and answer.

on ToyotaPatsDeal is shows both the 10 and 11 work, I tried both and the 11 seams to have a smaller gap prior to install.
