Howdy. Name's Sam. Been in Bozeman for about five years now. Proud owner of a 1990 FJ62 for about a year now.

Thanks for the welcome, Toyotaman. That photo was taken Memorial Day Weekend last year up by Helena and we're heading back up there in a coupla days to kick off the car campin' season.

Howdy! Long time lurker on Mud but never even found the regional subforums until the recent forum update. I figured since this is stickied, no harm in reviving a 6 month dead thread.
I'm in Bozeman, been here about 19 years and been in Toyota's the whole time
My first rig in high school was a 81 Jeep CJ5, the most wonderful death trap a 16 year old could ask for!!! Once I hit MT I stumbled into a '81 Trekker, I didn't even know what I had 
After that I moved into a '91 Toyota ext. cab pickup, drove it for 13 years and 180,000 miles before the engine finally gave with a mere 265,000 on the odo. I still miss that truck. I've also had some other toys on the side...Harley, sportbikes, dirtbikes, and a 76 FJ40. Right now I'm on the hunt for a 100 series, mainly 2000-2004 model years. It pains me that my garage is Toyota-less for the moment 
but that will be corrected in the next month or so.
So, that's me. Oh, I'm Eric but everybody calls me Lax.

It has happened, but would be nice to see a lot more of it. I think Paul has been the most successful organizer here. Maybe he will do another barbecue.

Here's what I've been up to...
2000 Lexus LX470. I have a three ring binder full of the complete service history since mile 1, including the original purchase order and window sticker I was a Texas truck up until just a few years ago...definite creampuff!!!
Step 1: Bye-bye running boards.
Step 2: Tires, 285-75 R16. I've narrowed it down to Cooper ST Maxx's, AT3's, Bridgestone Dueller Revo2's, or Goodyear DuraTrac's....if anybody has any reviews let me know!
Step 3: Sliders.
This summer it will get it's second 90k service (TB, Water pump, heater T's, AHC service, etc.) and I'm kicking around painting the lower cladding, who knows
Then bumpers......roof rack.....awning....fridge.....you get the idea.
So if ya see me around give a wave.

What size tires are on there now?
Personally, living in Bozeman I don't think there is any comparison for overall driving on our roads between the Duratrac and others mentioned. The Duratrac is just plain great.

Right now she's running stock sized, 275-70 R16, Geolanders. They're about done.
Montana Sig, another Bozemanite, raved about the ST Maxx's especially for winter driving. My main concern on the DuraTrac's is lifespan, heard they're a softer tire....but then ST Maxx's is the 61 lbs per tire vs. 54-55 lbs for the others. Oh hell, I don't know
I've heard good things about the Cooper too and I really liked the Non Revo Dueler at one point. Almost any tire out there is leaps and bounds ahead of what was offered 10+ years ago. You wont go wrong with any of them. The thing about the 100 is that because of its' weight and weight distribution, it does better on snow and ice than most vehicles out there. So, whatever all terrain type tire you want to go with you will be fine IMO. You're welcome to stop by and check out the duratracs I have on another vehicle to see how they are wearing. They've worn about 2/32's in 8000 miles I'd say and still look great, but have definitely outperformed the Bridgestones and Cooper's I have had previously.
