Hey All! My name is Mike, and my wife and I live in Bozeman. I bumped into bagochips76 at the post office the other day, and we got to talking about cruisers. He reminded me about the clubhouse on the forum, so I thought I would introduce myself. I have a 89 FJ62 with a 1HD-T conversion by Torfab, and my wife has a 03 UZJ100 that we bought from thetoyotaman.

I bought the FJ62 down in southern California with 292k while living in an apartment. Needless to say I could not do much work on it, so we sent it up to Seattle Washington where Torfab is located. He went through everything that needed to be rebuilt. Put a 2.5 lift Old Man Emu suspension on it, and did the 1HD-T Diesel conversion with a 5 speed manual trans, which was sourced out of a 92 80's series from Canada. We added bumpers, seats, sound deadening, tires and rim, carpeting, of course a new stereo, and a bunch of odds and ends. 3 weeks after we picked it up from Tor we headed out on a 33 day road trip across the country to see family and friends. It ran like a dream and still does today. We love it!

As for the 03 UZJ100. It is still stock, but we have some plans for it. However, I am not sure when they will become reality. We have driven it to Cape Hatteras North Carolina, Los Angeles, Seattle, and Bend Oregon. I love the FJ62, but on long trips I prefer the UZJ100. It just rides like a dream.

I hope to meet some more of you, and hopefully get to do some wheeling with you guys in the future!

Cool! Glad you came aboard and glad you love the 100. I'd like to get another one if I could ever sell my Trooper.

My name is Bob. I live in Billings, and my family still has the ranch I grew up on north of Pompey's Pillar up in the Bull Mountains. I have a 75 FJ40, 87 FJ60 and a 94 FZJ 80. I have had my 60 since I was in school in Missoula in 94. It was my DD until last year. I found the 40 and drove it all summer, then bought the 80. I got interested in TLC in the early 80s when I was running the ranch we owned between Red Lodge and Belfry. An old mountain man named Buck had a FJ55. Back then I thought Fords were the only way to go on the ranch. Then one day I watched Buck crawl up a 5 foot "cliff" and I knew they were special. Nice to know there are lots of cruiserheads around. I would love to get together sometime.

I've seen your 40 around Billings nice truck. I'll post here this year when I'm going wheeling, glad to have more trucks going along,

My name is Ron, I live near Belgrade. Just picked up a 69 fj40 a week ago and am in the planning stages now. Planning on a 2 year rebuild project for it. Bought a 82 fj40 brand new and foolishly thought i needed a pickup a few years later. Had a couple 55's one got retired for parts and the 76 we redid a few years ago. Somehow my kid got that from me so it's now in wyoming. My dd is a 84 extra cab minitruck. I'm sure I'm gonna have a lot of questions on the 69. Thanks to the owners for this wonderful site.. I've had 2 bulls in the 55 thought that was pretty good. Talking to the old boy i got the 40 from and he got to telling about the time they got a 6pt and a raghorn. got them both in the 40 and was heading back to butte. ran into a game check and they wanted to see the tags. of course they were buried in the pile told them to follow him home but no way were they gonna unload 2 bull elk from the cruiser until they got home. wish he woulda took a picture of that.

Hello Stephen, thanks for the welcome. Give me a call if you're bored. 580- 5909. I'm gonna clean out a hole in the shop for it tomorrow and then decide what to do. It seems pretty clean and I plan on doing all I can to keep the rust at bay. Look forward to meeting you, Ron

Hey All! Name is Dan and live in Big Sky. We own 2 FZJ 80's and love them. Still do some minor wrenching but am getting a little long in the tooth for the heavy stuff.

Re-introduction....... After totalling the family car, I had to sell my first ever rig, my old 76 Fj40. After 10 months of life without an fj, I found a perfect match to what I had sold, minus me beating for 20 years first! Lol (thats a huge bonus) spent this last year getting it reliable and trail ready which is almost complete. Managed to get a small group of guys from here out on one short run with the last Fj40, hoping we can all get together again soon. I live in the bitterroot, and plan on making several trips into Idaho this summer via primitive roads like the Nez pierce(magruder corridor), Lolo peak area, and a lot in the skalkaho/big hole range. I grew up around missoula, and know a few old trails in the area too. Anybody in or around zootown/root, lets go tear it up!!!
