Hi guys, I've been in AZ for a long time. I've got a 1975 fj40 which i've had for 18 years.
Just finished a big restoration on the truck. It's finally rust free. Deep metallic yellow, with a snorkel (left over from my river running days).
cheers.
any local meets? I know there's an informal car show at 83rd ave and Lake pleasant (i think).. usually 100+ cars, mostly american muscle.

Welcome Gerry!
As for meets, the third Friday of each month the CSC get's together at Sonic at Broadway / Rural to shoot the bull & kick the tires, usually about 8 - 15 cruisers strong. Look forward to seeing you out there this month! Untill then, post up some pics of the 40...
Josh
Ther are a few other Westsiders that are trying to get a regular thing going.
Grrlscoutfj62 and cantinero usually have something to say on it. Keep an eye out for a future thread.
I am finally going to join this coming get together.
Looking forward to seeing you all at Sonic on the 21st and paying my dues.
Although I am new to your group, I am not new to cruisers. I have had 3 different 40s over the years, and an 80 series that I just finished using up (it has since been sold to a buddy for his project). Currently I am left with a 97 LX450 that is technically the wifes and remaining stock for a couple more years, then I get it to put all of my 80 armor on.
Also am 2 1/2 years into a build of a 1965 fj45 long bed truck (that I have shortened). Hopefulyl anohter 6 months will finish that and I will have something to take on the trails with you in the fall.
Brian
P.S. If anyone needs/wants a front and rear axle from a 40 (pre-74 course spline), they are free for the taking.
New to the FJ40 crowd. I found a 75 that has the V8 conversion, aussie 5 speed, split transfer case, lifted, 35's, axles redone... but its ugly! Now to finish this project with a freshened up interior, seats, get a stock tank and vent system in (poly sucks and stinks), fix up the ignored parts... you know the drill. For now I want a reliable trail rig... not a beauty queen. I'll do the body work down the road sometime.
I live near PV Mall. Anyone in the area? I'll see if I can be running by the 21st and swing over to the meet.

I have just purchased my first LC. It is a 1976 FJ40, and I am so happy. I just don't know what to do first. I am getting rid of one project a 1966 halfcab bronco, for this one. It is bone stock. Any and I mean any advise, comments, help... would be greatly appreciated. I'm so glad to have found you guys. Take Care!
Josh,
Since you offer... have a good drag link, center link... whatever its called. Eventually I'll do a PS conversion but for now my link is sloppy.

Jim, nice to hear from you again. Post a pic of your beautiful FJC with your sig. TerryHi Guys; Sent my paperwork in back in January but have yet to hear anything. Going to CM08 and would like to hook up with some others. Last year wheeled a day with Rob, Kevin, Matt & Claudia. Had a blast. Met Terry Tubb and his son up there as well. Looking forward to seeing you on the trails. Jim Sills
