looking very good Theo, very good, can you send me pics of your factory jack and its holder. Mine was under the 2 seater rear seat, just wondering if yours looks the same as mine and the jack, for my jack is an Isuzu jack? also, your heater top vent does not look factory? Do you need or want one sent to you? I only say that becuase I have never seen one like that at all? I did the same with my knobs but was a pain in the butt to get excess paint off. I used oil paint markers.

I used 1000 grit sand paper for the excess and it was easy peasy and the knobs even got a polish for free :hillbilly:

With my Fuel Control Relay woes threatening to halt my project for 2.5 months, it got some other positive injection today ..

Man I love the tall and skinny look

just read through your whole thread and only now noticed that you put your steering wheel on the wrong side! Eeek... Hope that doesn't cause too many problems!

Aside from that though, she looks awesome! Keep the posts coming.

looking great Theo, keep rolling with it. question for you. Is yours a 5 speed? Did you refurbish your old transfer boots? specifically the outside one that you see from inside cab? Reason I ask is becuase I bought a new late model OEM one and it is smaller than mine and does not even come close to aligining with bolt holes? My buddy has an 82 BJ42 LX and is bringin by tommorrow night, his is pretty good condition he bought last year and is of course from AUS.

Mine is 5 speed and I re-used my original boots etc. They were just to good to replace

cool, my 5 speed boot is perfect but my transfer boot is not so pretty and is a diff part number on Toyodiy.com than the 4 speed models for it is larger.

Thanks
Rob

With the Fuel Control Relay woes over I could move forward again ...

Tonight I started alignment of the panels which is proving to be difficult if attempted without help !

sure is looking good Theo, on ur running boards there is just one small square cushion on underside correct?

R

Thanks Rob !

There used to be - Due to the new custom tubmounts, I gained an unintentional 10-15 mm of "body lift". So I made an additional pad for each side, to get the boards level again, cos it looked too much like a bird with broken wings :whoops:

LOL, thats why I asked, it seems mine probably are the same so I wanted to be sure, so I will have to make additional spacers as well. I bought new poly mounts but it wasnt a body lift?

Theo - Looking good
Glad to see the motivation is back to normal

Getting those panels to line-up everywhere can be a real PITA especially for me !

I am so gatvol of unexpected delays .. :bang:

awesome job!! looking really good!! i wish mine was that far along! im about half as far along as you.

Thanks

thats not a delay! its a washer bottle! keep going!

LOL. Yeah, but the other one is the radiator overflow bottle which is a bit more required. The washer bottle is no longer produced but the good news is that Mr Yoda Japan is sending us a new radiator bottle. Will try to patch the old one till then :hillbilly:

Against all expectations I managed to find 3 new OEM radiator overflow bottles, unfortunately only Ex Japan which translates to about 8 weeks waiting. Keith also managed to find me the same but went one better by also finding a washer bottle ex Aussie - thanks Keith!. Untill those arrive my patchwork will have to do...

I found a product by Fibretech that moulds into an almost plastic-like substance and when dry , even looks like old plastic! Apparently it can be machined but I am not concerned about the looks , this time !
