I've been experiencing an electrical issue that I cannot sort out. Randomly my stereo will lose power. When it goes the blower fan also stops and the clock stops most times but not all the time. The clock keeps its time and the stereo settings seem to hold so I think its on the switched power side rather than the constant supply. At first I thought it was only when I would hit a bump but today it did it while the car was parked, not moving. I've pulled everything out and checked every connection I can find. Grounds on those circuits look to be ok. Could it be an issue with the ignition switch itself? How would I diagnose that?

I’m thinking bad radio internals going out. Is it the original radio? How old if not? Does it happen while radio is on I assume? Leave it off and see? May have to unplug?

I had that intermittent problem also eventually I would turn the key and nothing would happen no start. Turned out the fusible link was no good I replaced it and all good. I would purchase a few of them if you can to have spares.

Not the original. Alpine after market. Probably 5-6 years old. At first I thought it might be the radio but why would the clock and fan stop too?

I still haven't figured this out but a new twist popped up recently. Now the autooff feature for my headlights is not working sometimes. Sometimes they turn off when I open the door (car is off) and sometimes they stay on. Seems like this is a ground issue but I haven't found one that looks bad.
