Intermittent crank no start, intermittent dead battery (SOLVED)

For the past year or so my '06 LX would randomly discharge the battery. I had the battery checked multiple times and it always tested good. Sometimes it did it after sitting for a few days, sometimes had only sat a day or two.

Fast forward to late fall and I had a crank, no start while on vacation. Let it sit 10 minutes and it started right up. Didn't help me relax. A week or so later it happened again. I went inside, did some research on mud for 15 minutes, went back out and it started right up so I was unable to troubleshoot. FINALLY about 3 weeks later it did it again! I've never been so happy that my car wouldn't start! This time I popped the hood, tapped the main relay a few times, got back in and it started right up.

I put a new main relay in and it hasn't happened since. For my '06 the part number was 85915-30050

I haven't had the battery drain since then either leading me to think that sometimes the relay was sticking on after I shut the truck off and sometimes it was sticking off when going to start the truck.

Hopefully this helps someone someday.

2000 LX 470 very intermittent starting issue

My 2000 LX 470 has 188,000 miles on it. I have a starting issue that I am trying to track down before I start throwing money at it with out reason and to be honest I am becoming a little defeated. I bought this with the intention of trail driving but I am a little scared to take it too far...
