interior map light bulb replacement? (1 Viewer)

I was trying to replace the map lights in the front with LED bulbs but for the life of it can't get the bulbs out. Is there something I am missing? (LX470 2001)

The lenses just pop out, are you saying the lenses are out but you can't get the bulb out? You don't need to remove console to replace the bulb, just pop out the lenses.

I am talking about the 2 overhead lights. I can't get the bulbs out. Worried about breaking them

Yep, just pull, wedge base.

you would think, I have done it on other cars but these seem to be glued in.

Are you pulling from bulb or black portion around the bulb?

It's been a while since I've messed with these

Put on a thin latex glove so you can get a good grip on it and PULL on the damn thing. It's a wedge bulb.

Then replace it with a LED so you'll have better light and it won't burn out again in your lifetime.
