I know this sub-forum is specifically for the 200 series, but i think this piece of info regarding the Sequoia could be a hint to the future of the sequoia in the US market and the Land Cruiser 200.
Toyota just stated that they will be dropping the 4.6 v8 engine from the Sequoia lineup for the 2013 model year. Could this possibly mean that Toyota will instead bring a cheaper Land Cruiser with less options and a 4.6 engine, possibly for the '14 model year ? The same year which the tundra will be redesigned ( Possibly ) . The reason i say this is i keep reading that the Sequoia will be discontinued and i remember reading on this website that a 200 with less toys and a cheaper price will replace it ?

This should be taken with a grain of salt and is nothing more than speculation. ( Except for the info in the link below )

The 200 series has had the 4.6L engine in it in Japan and other markets since the series introduction. The 4.6L is also in the LS460 Lexus sedan.

200 had the 4.7 the 202 is the 4.6 :) had so many fights with my supplier before we realized the treat the 202 as a complete different product and not a 200 with a different engine.

Thank for the input. I am aware some over seas models are available with th 4.6 engine, how ever do you think its possible this engine could be available in the near future on the US LC 200?

Thanks for the clarification Kenn. You've always got quality info!

Same for Australia.

The 200 Series, when introduced in 2007, came with the 4.7 petrol engine. Aussies did not have access to the 5.7 petrol engine, ever, in the 200 Series.

The 4.6 only landed Down Under 2012. Still no access to the 5.7.

Not sure why Toyota North America would drop the 4.6 from the Sequoia. Perhaps it's a bit underpowered for this huge SUV or American buyers are thumbing up their noses at the smaller engine so it's been a sales flop (Sequoia SR5 with 4.6 not selling)?

The 200 series released in 2012 for the gcc dropped the 4.7 from the lineup to a 4.6, which is whats in my motor.

Engine : 4.6L , 8 CYLINDER
Output : 304 HP/5500rpm
Torque : 44.8kg-m/3400rpm
Transmission : 6 Speed Auto

Also available is the 5.7 8cyl and a 4.0 6cyl

Thanks for the clarification . I am aware that it is available oversea's, how ever will it be available in the US ?
