Anyone have pics or info on how rope is mounted to the drum of an 8274-50? The rope end piece that's supposed to bolt to the drum won't work because the cable fits through a hole in the drum. The drum also doesn't have a threaded hole to bolt the rope to. Do I need to drill and tap a hole or ? Thanks

It doesn't bolt to the drum like a planetary winch. If you're using synthetic line (like I am), just tie a big double knot in the end of the rope so that it won't easily pass through the hole. It doesn't hold the weight of the pull; the wraps around the drum do that.

Yea, thanks. I knew all that. Was hoping for an option that didn't involve cutting off the metal connector.
