Any updates on these ? Any negative feedback? I’d like to order one for my diesel but worried they won’t hold up to the torque .
That’s what I was figuring , 300 bucks was too good to be true, I’m weighing about 6300Lbs plus the 4Bt it pushing 400 ft Lbs of torque if I had to guess… unfortunate cause I’ve heard good reviews on these but don’t want to do things 2XThese have been around for 50 years.
If you have a heavy truck and more power then stock then it is really a lot better to spend a bit more money on a carrier-replacement locker, ARB, Harrop, Detroit, Grizzly, etc. The big weakness with the lunchbox lockers is that they still go thru the stock crosspin. I've broken four of them, twice was lucky and clean breaks and was able to slide in a spare crosspin and be fixed fast but the other two times broke the carrier as well.
The other big weak link with a automatic locker will be the rear hub studs getting pounded with the truck being locked on the street.

This is how I like to do it !or tap on the side of the hub with a brass hammer.
Bad ideaSince the cone washers are painted, rotate them first to break the bond using snub nose pliers or similar.
