Ah that changes everything. You might want to bypass it. So you’re running an aftermarket head unit with factory amp and speakers?
Yes, only changed head unit and plugged in to behind dash existing wires.
Didn't know I need to bypass factory amp, if yes how?

Could be a pinched wire, too - an unintentional ground. More typical on signal wires. If it only makes noise at one speaker, it's probably that speaker's wires; if all over, then check the RCAs (or whatever feeds the amp).
I believe only driver speaker? But maybe just my feeling since I sit there.

I'm assuming changing amp also means changing speakers?

They sell adapters that will wire into your aftermarket headunit and plug into the speaker harness post factory amp. Your new headunit will have more clean power than the factory amp.

I see so just bypass the amp

Do you know if I can get female version of S16 connector from EWD? This way I won't be cutting into any wires / running more wires from HU to amp area?
Already got Metra 70-1761 (this goes in S15 and S17 from EWD)

Maybe I can get Metra 70-8112 and cut off RCAs, and connect 70-8112 to 70-1761 (bypass amp right at amp)

Created this, let's see if AMP is bypassed correctly

Just an update: bypassing amp absolutely worked - no more whistles but I'm running stereo at full volume now.
Going to start new thread for new amp / speaker system install

Having a similar issue in my LC80, does anyone know the correct harness to bypass the stock amp? Metra 70-1761 and Scosche TA02BCB seem to be the same and just plug into the same female ports as the stock head unit did.

Oops never mind! They are the same harness and the correct ones to bypass the amp. I just needed to disconnect the factory amp from behind the glovebox. I followed this video and it seems to be working. 🙏

I just decided to overhaul speakers/amp completely and going through that right now.
