“we’re going to do the Canning Stock”
What is the canning stock? I know it’s a difficult trail in Australia, but what makes it famously hard for vehicles to tackle?
I think it's length (almost 1,200 miles) and remoteness are the major factors. That much harsh terrain really punishes vehicles. There is also basically no escape routes is you have a vehicle failure. What is the canning stock? I know it’s a difficult trail in Australia, but what makes it famously hard for vehicles to tackle?
I’ll have to rewatch. I hopped around in the video and only saw Jeeps on an assembly line and then figured I was bamboozled after looking at the thumbnail closerThe thumbnail looks a little weird, but the video is real. The axles also have been reported to be pretty big and strong
yeah, it does look composited. That thumbnail is a photoshop, right?
It's distinctly 3 parts, IG first, then Jeep EV 2nd, and Defender last.I’ll have to rewatch. I hopped around in the video and only saw Jeeps on an assembly line and then figured I was bamboozled after looking at the thumbnail closer
I jumped a little far ahead sounds like lolIt's distinctly 3 parts, IG first, then Jeep EV 2nd, and Defender last.
The first part is Grenadier, middle is jeeps, end is old defenderI’ll have to rewatch. I hopped around in the video and only saw Jeeps on an assembly line and then figured I was bamboozled after looking at the thumbnail closer
I think the amount of corrugations punish the vehicles. The G-wagons air suspensions failed. Since the IG has a traditional suspension, that part should fair better. But it would verify every torque setting on the truck. What is the canning stock? I know it’s a difficult trail in Australia, but what makes it famously hard for vehicles to tackle?
Correct. The axle supplier, Carraro, traditionally does tractors I think. Lockers are believed to be Eaton.Front axle

This is the clip that's a bit misleading. It's really just showing the axle manufacturer's line. When I saw this, it made me go Wow! Upon closer inspection, this must be for industrial equipment with full hydro steering.

It’s such an under the radar car but it’s so coolInteresting thread. I was totally unaware of this vehicle's development. The video shot by Scot Brady of Overland Journal was great. I love that choice of powertrain, great engine. I'd drive it.
Wait until a few over hyped celebrities show them off. It’s such an under the radar car but it’s so cool
