Well, corroded AHC lines are getting the best of me. Had two leaks and I’m tired of replacing them. Too much rust, and something else always breaks.

Ironman kit is in the garage waiting for a good weekend to install. That said, the OEM globes I installed in January (probably less than 400 miles use) are up for grabs. Perfectly functional, just will be removing the entire system and won’t need them. I’ll post in classifieds shortly, but if anyone in here is wanting to avoid international shipping and save some cash, let me know.

Question.
When I go to the impex Japan site then go to catalogue and chose toyota it takes me to a page that appears to be Russian or some eastern european language. Am I doing this right?

Thanks

I don’t recall ever seeing that page.

I received my globes last week via Fedex, no issues. I just need to figure out how to get them installed now.
If you aren’t dealing with rust, and the current globes are in their correct places (mine had a rear globe on front driver), then you should be fine to do this in your driveway with a 36mm fan clutch wrench.

Go ahead and get you two cans of AHC fluid, cheapest I think I found was from Grieco.

Put it in low on AHC and get ready to crack the bleeder valves. It takes an 8 or 10mm wrench, think it’s 8 from memory. Hook you a tube up (1/4 ID) to the bleeder to avoid the burst of fluid. This isn’t like an oil change, as it’s been under pressure and will spew everywhere.

Once all four are bled dry, then grab the fan clutch wrench 36mm and crack the old globes off. If they aren’t frozen with rust, and no real issues, they should be able to be unscrewed by hand after loosened, and the others go in with no problems.

Tighten them down and refill the fluid. You’ll run it through low to high, high to low a few times, and will likely have to bleed it (not fully) but maybe a time or two from each area again.

When I read the original write up on how to do this, it sounded like a real pain in the ass. Once you get into it, it’s pretty simple though.

I use the Partsouq catalogue to find part numbers… search by VIN number works best.

And then order from Impex Japan… sometimes Amayama.

I have found that occasionally, Partsouq has better pricing, but not often. But they do have an extensive catalogue that is wonderful to research.

I’d be interested.

Amayama wont ship globes internationally. They will cancel the order. Impeccable says they may not be able to ship and aren’t responsible for refunds, but they seem to bypass whatever amayama doesn’t.

I have a set of brand new in box of OEM globes I bought from Impex a few months ago. If anyone wants to skip the ordering hassle and 2-4 week wait I’ll sell mine for what I paid. I’m selling my LX and no longer need them.

I've been seeing that as well. Once I log in it lets me in.

I had the same issue would not load the catalogue in English, just put in your part number from the toyota or lexus website and it will populate the part and price.

Also found out that if you are shipping to the U.S.A fedex no longer can clear customs for the globes. My only choices were EMS or DHL. The cost of parts and shipping was right at $440.74 USD took 3 weeks to hit warehouse and 4 days shipping. No issues clearing customs.View attachment 3871741View attachment 3871741

Globes were $125 when I bought mine, they’ve dropped to $110 it looks like, but the $440 price you quoted is for globes without shipping.

If you read my post you will see the total was including the set of 4 globes and shipping as well as the exchange charges, your may be different since mine were for the Lexus LX570. The globes were $325.77 which lso included 5 bleeder screws. Shipping was another $102.14 and international fees added $12.83 bringing the grand total to $440.74

Got it, you didnt mention them being for the 570 in your first post. That makes sense as those are cheaper than the 470.

Hey guys, I'm trying to order some of these globes for my 570, i'm curious however on the shipping. Did you put in dimensions for the package? I'm shipping to the seattle area, and dhl has the shipping cost at like 33$ this doesn't seem right to me. my current cart cost is sitting at 339.60 including shipping. if there is an overage in shipping do they refund it? thanks for the help

:edit so i see that the shipping quote only had the weight of 1 globe a 2kg so i multiplied that 4x and put that as the weight and now the dhl cost is at 92~$ seems more correct, but i still don't have a dimensions of the package

I just got a set of globes from them last week. I paid the estimated shipping up front, but then they came back and needed a few $ more (~6$) for actual shipping once it was ready to mail. So I think the final shipping rate can vary from what is quoted up front. I assume you would be reimbursed any overage if it comes back cheaper.
