So, time has come to replace the heater valve, and thinking that it might be an opportune time to PM my pesky heater hose (probably using the Wit's End piece).

What else should I be doing in there? Thinking all of the hoses, but not sure which parts to get - the diagrams I am seeing at the OEM parts site I use don't show the p/n's very effectively. Ugh. So if anyone has list, that would be great. And/or, is everyone just going to town using Gates Green Stripe and a slew of clamps?

TIA for your help.

You are opening up the cooling system so now is a great time to swap any or all of it. For sure new hoses. OEM for the three main ones, and then a combo of Gates Green Stripe and formed NAPA hoses will get it done, it varies if you are deleting the rear heat. I would toss in a new thermostat and consider a water pump too. How is the radiator?

I might run some CLR through it and then flush and fill the whole thing and be sure to burp it.

The most important thing in that area is, tie the engine harness away from the EGR pipe. Two zip-ties to the clip peg.

There's a recent thread I posted the answer to this question to. Scroll back a couple of weeks, it's in there. If I have time later, I'll repost it here.

Remove your knock sensor before you mess with the heater hose or you will bust it. There is also another hose in there for the throttle body coolant you might as well change.

I would also add some dielectric grease to the transmission harness while in that area.

Anyone have a picture of this Mod ?

Rad and t-stat are both new, so not gonna mess with them...
