That's what I understood too, so apparently-

Stock roll bar = Death

hmmm, I bet a few guys on this board might disagree.

Your cruiser looks great. I am glad it finally worked out for you.

I agree, go with the 17" rims then you don't have to worry about arm clearance. You might need to add a spacer depending on your setup. Here are the 17" Mojave's on my '78.

Those mojaves are 17x? and what is the backspacing? They look great and look like they fit inside the wheelwells. I have a 77 with factory front disks. Will these bolt right up or do you have to have spacers? What size tires and brand are those? They really look good and that is what I am striving towards with mine.

I felt the same way, I wanted something that did not stick out too far. I originally saw these rims on Alumacruiser and really liked them, the tires that he used were a little to small for what I wanted though. I went with 35 X 12.5 X 17. They are BF Goodrich mud terrain KM2's. I have been super happy with them.

The wheels are 17 X 8 and have 4.5" of backspacing that pulls them under the fender an extra inch. I am currently not running any spacers at this time. I have had no rubbing during mild off road and street use. I suspect the rears might rub a bit if pushed during wheeling. If they do rub then I will put some spacers on. Probably a one or two inch should be all that i need.

So to answer you question yes these are bolt on. 17" are the way to go, no TRE issues and I think they look better.

I have never been happier than with this setup :D

I just put 16" rims on my 76, and I don't have any rubbing issues. Specs are 16x7 with 3.5" of BS. Center bore=4.25", and 6x5.5 lug pattern (standard Toyota specs). Mine are made to order steel rims.

My 32 11.5 GW AT's rub against the tie rod under extremely tight turning.

Whats wrong with the stock roll bar?
