After selling my '89 in 2000, I recently picked up a '90 FJ62. Been looking on and off for a while. But this was too good to pass up. In my neighborhood (one town over); one owner CA car and garaged most of its life. Pretty original other than the Kaymar rear bumper/tire swing out. And has some nice slide out drawers. I'm partial to white (the color of my '89), but this two tone is beautiful. Not planning on doing much right away other than putting on new tires. Even though the tread is decent, the current tires are around 13 years old. Going to go with some 31's x 10.5 (up from the 30x9.5s on there now). It's got 219K miles. So I'll get a once over done on the truck soon to baseline everrything, but it runs pretty well considering. It' won't be my daily driver, but plan on using to commute one-two days a week. And of course weekend fun. My 13 year old daughter has already dubbed it the surf truck. It came with some roof racks and awning which I don't have on in these pics. Roof rack is still hanging in the sellers garage and I should have it in a week or two. My other two trucks are a 2007 100 series and a 74 Bronco (built for wheeling).

Congrats, nice truck! I always liked that color combo. Enjoy it.

That two tone is pristine looking!

Very sharp.

Along with the purchase of this cruiser, I also got the roof rack and kaymar retractable awning. Check out the pics. I'm already picturing setting up down in Pismo Beach on the sand and enjoying a cold one under the shade of this beauty.

Nice 62 series! That drawer/sleep system is great. Perfect height and looks great. I might try to replicate something like that in my 60.

I wanted to scoop that one. Great score, let me know if you want to get rid of the drawer system! :-)

Take it to Georg and have him put a 5spd manny in it best coin I've spent so far on mine.

Enjoy!

The H55F five speed was the single greatest dollar for dollar upgrade I have ever done to my 60. I think the weak point on the 62 is the automatic, plus I like changing gears. If you get the manual 5 speed you'd have the best of both worlds.

I second the H55f upgrade. I had Jeremiah Proffitt up in CO convert my 1989 low mileage 62 last summer and it's gone from a slug to a whole different (and better) truck.
Hey bud if you decide to go another way and want to get rid of your Kaymar stuff both the awning and the bumper, give me a call. I'll drive there and pick them up from you. Been trying to find some for about three years.

I love the look of the full size rack on top. Reminds me of my Garvin 3/4 I have on my 80 series. Great looking rig in terrific shape. This will be my inspiration. I 2nd (or 5th) the H55F being a great option vs. the automatic. Jamming gears is fun.
