I am about to buy some BFGs to go on my stock suspension, stock wheels 60. I am leaning towards the 32's because I'd like something slightly larger and for some reason they are cheaper than the 31's on tirerack. Please give me some feedback and pros and cons of each decision, I have 31's on now. Will the 11.5 be too big for my stock rims? Will the 32's affect drivability vs my 31's? 550.96 is the cost delivered to my door, does anyone else offer a better price or another vendor to look at? THanks in advance...

yeah, i'm in the exact same boat. stock setup 60 with 31's. i hope with larger diameter tires i will get better gas mileage due to lower rpm. Our 60's are geared pretty low anyways so anything better than 12-13 mpg would be great! i was told i might be able to go 33x10.5 on stock suspension?

the size difference is pretty small in terms of usefullness. 31's are a LOT easier to find if/when you need another tire(s) and the 32s will throw more mud/gravel/crud up onto your fenders/doors.
33x10.5 on a stock suspension might fit, but you are pretty certain to rub a LOT if you wheel anything more than a slow driveway.

Actually 33x10.50s fit nicely on a stock 60 with 60 wheels if your springs aren't overly tired and they don't rub. I ran these and 33x9.50s on my stock suspension 60. The 11.50s will suck mounting on a 60 rim if you can find someone to do it. It will also cause uneven tire wear as the tire will buldge.

Be wary of the better fuel economy line:rolleyes: .I think that is one some guys tell their wife;)
The biggest benefit from bigger tyres is the lower engine speed ,sometimes called "the rubber overdrive" and the resulting lower noise levels.

You might also consider the 33x9.5 .The narrower tyre will rub less and they still look and perform great.
Maybe someone will throw up a pic:D

Take your quote to Discount Tire, if you have one there. I had a quote from Cosco for $596 for 33X12.5 BFG's and Discount gave me a price of $624 installed, plus a $50 reabate. $574 for 33's is a great deal IMO. This was about a month ago...

who makes a 33x9.50? i haven't seen this size around much.

33X9.5s

I read on this board somewhere that BFG has discontinued the 33X9.5. I have them on my stock 60 and really like them. I have never had any rubbing although I do not do stuff that requires a lot of flex. The AT KO in 9.5 is good in snow. The 33 inch size really does improve highway cruising, PROVIDED it is on flatter ground. If you need to climb long hills you will find yourself switching between 3rd and 4th at aroung 45 MPH. I am getting about 16MPG but its a fresh motor with a Jim C. carb. Still, I would attribute some of the mileage to the rubber overdrive. Sometime this winter I intend to drop my gearing to 4.11 in future anticipation of a 5 speed.

X2 on the 33x9.5. Have a new set on my 60. They ride great and look nice.
BFG makes this size in their AT. I happen to have a set of the 32x11.5 on my
Tacoma and like them as well. However, the Tacoma's wheels are wider thus
enabling it to handle the 11.5 width. A stock 60 rim is narrower....

33s are the way to go! I'm running 33x10.50s and I love 'em.

4wheelparts.com

has free shipping and the 31X10.50 would be $507.96 and the 32 would be $539.96 for 4 tires.

Can you tell I am working;) ? Actually waiting for my 5 33X10.50 to be delivered right now. The truck should be here any minute.... I bought mine mounted to some steel wheels from 4wheelparts.com.

KO?

I had 31x10.5 BFG MT's b/f my lift and loved them (I now have 33x12.5 same tire but the newer version) .

Do most people have too much $ to burn $500+ on a set of tires? I paid $75 for my complete set of 33's. Yes they had some cuts and were not brand new, but by the time they get low I will want to go with something else or something bigger. My advice is to shop around. But then again I am cheap on everything and will shop around for any part that I need.

I say go with the 31x10.5 or the 33x9.5's. If I had a 60 I would say go with the 33x9.5 so you can get the "rubber" overdrive.

Hope this helps...and please dont take this as an insult or anything. I just know that I would much rather spend $500 towards another mod or repairs rather than a brand new set of tires.

Whatever you decide keep us posted and post up some pics of b/f and after.

Here are myBFG MT 33x9.5 on stock wheels and suspension. Now have OME. I never rubbed, but I don't stumpjump my rigs.

the 9.5 is okay, I keep the inflation at 38-40psi that helps with the side wall roll and weird handleing from that..

still available- check 4wheelparts.com?

i bought (last spring) 33x10.5 bfg at ko tires-set of four, mounted balanced, out the door for $500.03... i got a price quote from 4wheel parts and then took that written quote (during one of their sales) to pep boys, and they beat it by 5%... works with any of the big-box tire places and you get a great deal!

33x9.5 will work fine on stock suspension as long as it's not completely flat.

4 wheel parts had the best deal I could find anywhere when I bought my BFG 35x12.50 MTs. They could use a seminar on how to be civil to their customers (there are apparently a lot of jerks working there), but their prices are often hard to beat.

A year ago I purchased a set of 33x9.5 BFGs from Sam's Club at $125 a pop in Cincinnati. They fit great on a stock vehicle and with tax was about $530 total with lifetime rotation and balancing. Might want to give them a call if you have one in your local area.

I think I am going to bite on some 33x9.5's and am looking for other pics of them on stock suspension rigs, can anyone else help?

One other suggestion: take a quick look at some (slightly) used tires. You just might be able to find some tires that someone purchased recently and decided to change at a HUGE reduction. Worth a look at least. There are some amazing deals on used tires out there. And of course some rip offs. Caveat emptor.
