Looks like it's time to take the flares off and build a bumper!
Time to get the flares off, new bumpers, lift, bigger tires, then of course a re-gear, sliders of course.... (Do I sound like I have "the sickness".)

Congrats on a great purchase I am also a Newbie I have had my 94 for barely 6 months and getting ready to do my lift this week. Good Luck with it and have fun.

diesel swap? Nah. I'm thinking rear turbo, after I move my spare to the swing out tire carrier on the rear bumper. ;-)

'94? You settled for an old one? *I* have a '95!
I kid! I kid!
$1600 with lockers (even if you had to tow it home) sounds like a GREAT deal. If it's running well, and the lockers work, that's a smokin' deal! 2.5" lift (or stock) is what most people choose. Most of the options on lifts are based on how much weight you're going to add to your truck, and what you need to add (lift wise) to net 2.5" of lift. I had a post where I invited comment on some lift options. At the time I'd planned to just put spacers on top of my old factory springs. forum.ih8mud.com/threads/spring-spacers-and-stock-springs.818286/ If you plan an "Overland build", rather than a hardcore crawler, 2.5" (or less) is likely to be best.

Thanks blade 80lc. It sat infront of a house for a year so I knocked and talked and found that the owner commuted and didn't like the gas mileage.it runs like a top but needs the usual love but yes lockers work great.ac even works lol.ive always wanted one and have had a radical 4Runner rock crawler but I caught the adventure bug so off to new adventures I go. Ome2.5 or slee 4inch is my hard decision now.
