I'll be interested in the discussion on this one. You may have heard about this fabled 1988 FJ62 but in case you haven't, enjoy!

Most FJ62’s have plenty of miles on them. Finding examples with under 100K is pretty rare! We've all talked about buying a vehicle and squirreling it away for 30 years. Occasionally it happens. The owner of this 1988 Land Cruiser did just that. She had other cars to drive so this beauty sat in the garage and was used VERY sparingly over the years.

This enigma has less than 14K miles! Nope that's not a typo. When I originally found her in 2014, she had 9000 miles. When it comes to original examples, it's as perfect as you will ever find. Flawless body and interior. Original paint, engine, transmission, everything except the tires. We even have the window sticker and the build sheet from Japan.

I'll kick off the discussion...

Sure owning a 14,000 mile 88 FJ62 would be cool, but I like to drive my vehicles and I would always worry about putting miles on it or worry about someone hitting me. That is also my least favorite Toyota color ever. :(

If I had that kind of money to spend, I would rather buy a nice FJ40 ($30k), FJ60/62 ($25k), and a FJ80 ($15). I would drive them all everyday and not worry about it:)

Is this yours?? Do you own it?

hows $69,500 and u throw in the chainsaw stump carved owl? :) (Mounted as hood ornament to go with the rear bumper i want to toss on this )

Whoever invented the $69 body lift needs to be shot :)

It looks like that guy bought two of them and stacked them together.

Super nice rig for sure, but I'd be much too afraid to drive it. That thing belongs in a museum or in one of those inflatable bubble things

I do NOT own it. LCN has this on Consignment. I DID own it a few years back. I would drive it sparingly if I did own it. I've got too many vehicles at this point in time.

this cruiser could end up being the biggest Ponzi scheme in cruiser history. If each owner doesnt put any miles on it......and has resold it adding $20k each time.......we could be looking at the first $500k cruiser in 20 years!!!! Buy it now and make a fast $20k ! Its only going up from here...... :)

chainsaw owl may be along for the ride and end up in a Christies auction if u play your cards right!

At least it's got the rear seat headrests. Unlike the 28K mile one that went through that Land Rover flipper in Alabama a year or two ago.

SOOOO glad I didn't get a deal done on that one. Far too much shady crap with that one.

I would imagine there's a limited market for it. Maybe contact this guy?

I've spoken with him. He's aware of it. The right guy will come along. Each time she's sold she has appreciated.

It's a nice cruiser - but I agree with the above! That thing belongs in a museum on display or in someone's private collection...no need for it to be driven on the street it'd be a shame to rack up miles on it.

Good luck with the sale!

Actually, at one point a few years ago you could have rented it for a day. It was part of Morries Heritage Car Connection, an collection of vintage, exotic and unusual vehicles available for rent. It was rented a few times but not too much.

I’d pay full asking price there was $49k in the glove box. Anyone that spends 70k on this is flat out stupid.

Right cause you can just find stupid people after stupid people. That’s a stupid risk and return.
