Got out to the desert for a minute today. Grabbed some pics with the new wheels -

Still winchless. I think I'm gonna pick up a Comeup Seal Gen2 12.5 synthetic pretty soon here

I also hammered my pinch weld flat as it was rubbing a little. Wanted to test that out, don't mind my poser pics

Seems like everything is perfect now. No rubbing in the rear wheel well. This was as close to fully compressed as I could get - bumpstop was maybe 1/3" away from touching the arm - but it seems like the offset on these wheels is perfect with 285/75r17

I'm happy with it. Maybe one day I'll upgrade to Icon shocks and Nitro Gear UCAs - anyone seen a real difference in flex from doing that?

New wheels look awesome! I wish my truck was more built so I could pull them off on mine! I think I'm gonna go with the SCS F5's though once my 18" tires wear out.
Yeah I'm realizing you have to be pretty dedicated to em. They're heavy, kill mpg even more, etc. The SCS are sick though, can't go wrong!

Please tell me you documented the pinch weld mod. Probably one of the most spoken of mods that has little to no - pictures, tips / tricks, pros / cons of methods used, yet almost everyone running oversized tires, as well as, aftermarket offsets would benefit from.

Of course you're considering the Comeup Seal Gen2 Synth 12.5k lbs winch ... I wouldn't expect anything less in a build this top notch

Thanks dudes. I have a lot to learn still.

Nice. Do you have a list of what you bought?

Blue Sea - Add-a-battery kit, but ended up not using the switch that comes with it.
Blue Sea - Safety fuse block (2) 200 amp fuses
Blue Sea - ST blade split bus fuse block
Blue Sea - 50 amp circuit breaker
Ancor - Marine grade tinned copper lugs, 1/0 and 6 gauge
Ancor - Electrical Adhesive lined heat shrink, red/black
1/0 welding cable...like the flexibility
6 gauge wire from the aux battery to rear of LC
Slee - 2nd battery tray
Interstate battery...same one Slee designed the tray around

I think that's about it. If I think of something else, I'll let you know. Hope this helps a little.

I realized halfway through that I should have taken some pics. It's really very simple

1. Truck on jackstands, remove front wheels
2. Remove fender liner
3. Hammer pinch weld - I used a 4lb sledge. It'll naturally bend inwards
4. Hammer til flat, then use cutoff wheel/wire brush to clean up rough metal/paint
5. Couple coats of paint to prevent rust.

Thanks, really appreciate it!

Hammering it to the inside vs the outside was on my list of questions. Sounds like inside it is.

When you re-installed the wheel well liner did you modify it at all ?

Thanks for the reply. Truck looks awesome!

Yeah I had already cut it a little where there’s that forward facing bump at the bottom. I tried a heat gun but couldn’t get it to flatten enough and kept rubbing on the tires.

Had a slow leak in one wheel, so I ordered a couple new O rings and tore the wheel/tire down to install the new O ring.

Be really careful when stretching the O ring - that one on the floor was brand new and just snapped when I pulled it a little too much. Luckily I'd bought two.

You'll also need a way to break the bead. I thought maybe it would just come apart but nah - even with a freshly mounted tire, it was all stuck together pretty good. These tire pliers did the trick.

O ring replacements: Hutchinson Replacement O-Ring
(p/n 50078)

Tire pliers: Tire Bead Breaker
These are really well built. Made in Australia, and this seemed to be the best US dealer. There were a few knockoffs on Amazon for cheaper, if you feel like modifying them to work with wheels larger than 15"

Work took me up to an abandoned mining town this week. We needed to get up this washed out, muddy logging road and had to do some road building. I decided not to chance it with the cruiser and took the mrzr up instead

Picked up a Slee jerry can carrier:

As with all Slee stuff, it's high quality. The strap system is very nice. I just need to pick up one more can

Also bought a Hilift. Went with the 60 inch so i won't be keeping it on the truck - just for trips. Won't be able to get into the garage
