Well the louvers that was cut into my son's LX- not sure if it helped with heat soaked engine bay. I already have the hood risers but I don't have a sensor to measure the temp inside the engine.
The ambient temp was above 101 last week and over the mountain passes (7k to 11k) elevation my ECT peaked at 200° and my IAT at 145°. I could imagine how hot the engine bay was......i def need a stainless dorkel to bring tha IAT down and the Aussie 79 hood would prob help a lot more

Have you thought of adding a temp sensor inside the engine bay? Where should it be placed? I'm thinking of installing one to my 93 Turbo.

Hm I'm not sure. Diesels seem to run cooler and I haven't really had issues with heat tbh. I wonder if anyone has done any testing with a hood scoop to see if that can help reduce temps. Maybe if you mounted a fan underneath instead of an intercooler?

Drilled the clutch pedal/MC mounting holes via a template lent to me by @logicbyondreaso. I believe he got it from OTC

Had to cut off this small stud on the interior:

Installed the pedal. Just held in place with the top bolt for now. Still need to bench bleed the MC.

And I figured you know what, I've come this far, let's pull the dash reinforcement bar.

Tell ya what, it's so easy to work under the dash when there is no dash. haha

I'm going to refresh the AC evaporator core, so I figured why not refresh the heater core while I'm in here. I wish I could buy one new but they seem to be out of stock. There's a layer of grime and sticky dust on everything under the dash, including all the vents and the blower assembly so I'll be working on a deep clean.

I also considered running my GMRS antenna through the stock AM/FM antenna route but it's just too difficult to get to, even with the dash removed. I could probably do it with the blower assembly removed but in the future it would be impossible to repair/replace.

For now I'm just deleting the AM/FM antenna. Haven't used it in 2 years and I doubt I'll ever need it.

Also I picked up a $100 FB marketplace deal on this tailgate and upper hatch. It's a little bit rustier than I had hoped so I'm not sure yet if I'll use it but it never hurts to have some spare parts.

I also got some sample colors from a marine vinyl company. I'm leaning toward this color, "Coffee" for the dash. It's not an exact match, little less brown, little more gray, but it's close. While I'm at it I might do the upper door card cushions and the center console box lid so it all matches.
