So for those that have done it what’s needed to convert my 1988 IFS hubs (27 spline) to work on the solid axle (30 spline) I installed ? Can inner hub gears from a solid axle hub work or do do I need different inner hub gears ?

Thanks

I’ve heard guys say you can take IFS locking hub bodies, drop in 30 spline SA inner gears and call it a day. However, in my experience I found that this isn’t true. The hub bodies are dished different so one style houses it’s inner gear closer to one end than the other. Can’t remember which is which but disproved this earlier this year.

Aisin hubs are available. Cruiser Outfitters has them.

@Toast that’s what I was under the impression you could do also

@pappy they are who I was looking at getting the inner gears from if needed

Thanks for the help

What’s wrong with your solid axle hubs?

I don’t have the solid axle hubs

You need new hub gears. The gears are different between sfa and ifs hubs, but RCV makes 30 spline gears for ifs hubs. The gear is required for warranty with 30 spline birfields, so its necessary to swap even if you had sfa hubs.
I still run my stock ifs hubs with 30 spline gears on my swapped solid front axle. Works fine.

Thanks @GRM for the info and link
