Hey,

see the price in europe, yours isn´t so bad:
http://nakatanenga-tours.de/shop/ar...Alu.html?shop_param=cid=21&aid=PA8x16ET3-TOY&
(don´t mind the Land Rover  , they have them for Toyota too)

but what about 6.5" original Toyota rims from the HZJ105? We have had those on our HZJ78 with 255/100 and they worked fine...
Gets your tire abut 2cm out and increases clearance to the stearing arm and would be easy to realise...

but if you decide to spend money, why not for the best and go for forged alloys, ALCOAS 8" R16 ?

We were lucky, got them second hand :D

They adapted them for the HZJ78/79

Ok, got the spacers installed and it rides nice and high now. Summer tires are back on and ready for some fun as well.

Just bought the 4x10 PWR barrel intercooler and should have it next week, just have to figure out where I will mount the intercooler rad - maybe behind the cab on the tray headboard thing as I never really carry anything in the back anyway. I don't want the rad in the engine comp or in front of the rad, and I don't want it underneath the truck anywhere as it will just get full of dirt and crap. Anyone have some suggestions?

This is where I ordered the intercooler from, cheapest place in North America that I could find:

I sym, pathise with the Intercooler problem got that sunday with a radioator/intercooler full of mud after a whackign a small mudhole.

Most comp boyz here place the radiator on the rear of the pickup/wagon and electric fan it with the biggest VOLVO fans they can find. However not seen an intercooler here rear mounted as not sure of the pressure drop I imagine it would cause a lot of turbo lag. TOP mount not an option with a fan sucking air through from underneath?

Hi Cicak, maybe you misunderstood - I will be placing the radiator for the water/air intercooler behind the cab - not the intercooler. The intercooler fits nicely on top of the engine.

i just looked into the fitting of this to the HZJ40 build but i do not have the room.

the price is right though

Hmm, I thought Radd cruisers installed one in a 40 series with a 1HZ - or maybe it was an HZJ73 - can;t remember now.

I found this awesome cruiser, would be nice to get this power out of the 1HZ, check out the video. There is some wicked power coming out of this truck.

"I run a 1hz, balanced internals, hpc coated everything, garret turbo, air to air int, 25psi boost, modded fuel pump, makes 165rwkw and well over 1200nm from 1500rpm to 6000, and has been reliable now for over 3 years "

i did not think he would get out of that one...

oh, dreams of HP bouncing in my head. bugger.

Completely insane! He is running a 60 series rear end in the front with a GQ diff and 80 series knuckle balls welded on - and longfield shafts. There is no way the new 7X series front ends would survive that.

Ok so you are sticking the rad behind the cab just make sure if it lets go no one gets hurt from the steam - its happened here.

The intercooler are you going to run a fan under the intercooler for slow travelling? Some guys run a fan under the bonnet mount cooler here for jungle/offroad work and turn it off for highway running.

So did you get a whole kit from those guys or just the tube and you are making your own??

Thanks,

Michael

It was a good event that one, some series carnage at that stage though. Heres a coupla pics from it. The Blue GQ snapped a radius arm, which allowed the diff to twist up and hole the sump, at full noise. Didnt sound healthy.

I just got the barrel from them, the rest I will get from silicone intakes probably - unless you know of another place?

I'll custom make the connectors from the turbo and intake to the cooler. the rest is pretty standard stuff. I'll use a 12x12x2 intercooler rad and a bosch cobra pump.

Damn that is a great looking event, i wish we had that here! The problem would be having enough vehicles that would make it through those events though, the north american vehicles would be trashed minutes into it.

yah, but it would be fun to watch them bust.

i will see if i can find Rocking Rolan's 80 series ...

SO I am looking under my hood on my HZJ77 and I can not find a single spot to put a 12x12 rad and fan, I mean I have no where to put it, can't put in front grill because I have A/C, I also have dual bat's (24v) and I am RHD so no room. Possible in the rear by the air inlets but that is long way from the front.

I am waiting on a new HZJ76 from ME, possible on that one I can get a inter-cooler hood from OZ and stick it in that but no room on the 77 or 75 troopy for that matter, no wonder you are putting it behind the cab.

I also now know why the 76 series in oz had the big scoop in the hood. :)

BTW.. I was looking at Silicone intakes and they have an intercooler that would work instead of the barrel for a lot less $$

Cheers,

Michael

Ya I know what you mean about being tight. I have dual batteries but on either side ( soon to be beside each other, I will also have dual ARB air compressors beside each other under there as well. The whole reason to ditch the air/air is so that I get rid of the intercooler from in front of the engine rad and so get rid of the stainless intercooler piping that takes up so much room.

I did see a picture of one dence intercooler with it in front of the rad, I think radd cruiser did it, and I did see one where the rad was mounted in the engine bay on an 80 series, but I would think that I would want it out of the engine compartment for better heat loss. So mine will be attached to my rear deck - if I didn't do deep water and mud I would put it under the deck.

I saw that cheap intercooler but decided to use the pwr instead as I have not heard any reviews on the chinese made model rectangular type.
