I bought 75 from the west then shipped it back year 09 and is a 96 model.
In fact, I was the first one who bought HZJ79 in Tawau year 01.
The price was RM105K after a few hundred RM discount. :D
With all the accessories attached on, I had managed to sell off the 79 in year 05 with price higher than I bought from Toyota.
After inert for a few years, it rekindles my zeal on the current 75.
No doubt, 75 isn't as comfortable as compared to 79 in term of cabin space, stability....etc

Why u bough it from west? Are they cheaper at west? There are many available in whole Sabah.
wow did u regret for selling it? I knew that hzj79 was as high as RM130k few years ago! Maybe u r the one who made that record =DDD

Nobody will know what a HZJ75 is in the west except cruiser head.
With this in mind, they're selling the price of a Hilux to me.:D

No regret in selling off my 79 but a relieved to me. You should know how a car thief are so in fond with this cruiser.:crybaby:

I didn't break that record. This is one at KK asking for RM140K.
Rounded dash, 1HDFT engine, H150 box, recaro seat, power window, snorkel, OME suspension, overfender, the list goes on on.:eek:

around RM35k? haha good!

I feel the pain of having 79. I dare not park it in town for more than 10 minutes:frown: But i think 75 is popular too.

How much u sell? 75 n 79 price had fallen these 2 years, people move on to 4x4 lorry now :meh: I only value mine at RM70k for the car insurance. Do u know where can I find 5 stud rims? :bang:

I usually see HZJ75 for around the 60k mark for a mid+ 90's model. There are some really battered ex company vehicle come up occasionally and there are also a few very pristine example.

Most private buyers are put off by the high W.Malaysia road tax on the engines.

Being in Klang valley occasionally, I have spotted about less than 3 units so far. Not sure about other state.;)
No sign of 79 in the west, 79 is mainly for Sabah and Sarawak.
Road tax isn't the issue anymore, maintenance wise will the major issue.:bang:

You have to get use to with the anxiety of owning a landcruiser.
My immune system is stable now.:D
I can only think of KK will have the 5 stub rim for sell
OR
internet search..
I have sourced out my accessories globally through internet.

I doubt there are any 79 in west.

Road tax is an issue! So expensive for a private 75, must be 3k++.

I'm a newbie in searching for rim. All this while I was using original in all cars. I can't figure what is the offset of my original rim. I'm hoping to get 16x8 for bigger tyre. I only know that 100 series rim won't fit 79 :frown:

Every reasonable person knows the "75" is the coolest by far. :D

Are you one of the "coolest by far"?:hhmm::D
Tell us something how the US guy look at you when you're driving your coolest by far.
We're of no extraordinary, ubiquitous cruiser over here.:D

My wheels are of the gx Aust spec 105 series which is a 5 stud rim and 16x8 size and perfect offset for a 79 series.

So what is the minimum offset of hzj79? I think it is negative, but by how much?
http://i20.servimg.com/u/f20/13/60/37/35/hzj_7410.jpg << I like the rim on this hzj71 but I'm not sure whether it is fitted with spacer or not. I could not contact the owner too :frown: Had you seen any 79 with these rims on? Nice fins on the fender wing by the way! :)

Not sure on offset ,but the OEM rims fit perfect, those rims in your link are very euro and very ugly.

Indeed those rims on the 71 are very ugly looking.:crybaby:

Clint! I was wondering what is on the back of your 79, quite sagging in a way?:hhmm:

Another thing, Australia is the only country in the world that offered 100 series with solid axle and those rims will fit into a 79.
Malaysia 100 series are fully imported from Japan and is with independent wishbone in front. On top of that, those rims will required some spacers in order to fit into 79.;p

BTW, your rim looks super handsome.:D

Hey Wong,

The rear leafs are rooted and flat with nothing in the back,I have a full rear tank and the back of the Ute is full of my old steel rims and tyres.the steering is nice and light ;)

I think ishobie runs or ran a set of ifs rims not sure about spacers.

I seen a hdj100 with the 105 alloys on it the same as mine and they stuck outside the wheel arches and looked wrong.

My steel rim is the heaviest & ugliest :crybaby: The prettiest rim is the current hzj79 GXL "star" oem rims. However it is 16x7 and I can't find a seller through the internet.
