Looks like a fun project. You will get lots of differing opinions on this particular subject but I wouldn't waste my time or money on the selectable front hubs. Never see them in the middle east on anything. I don't plan on converting my FZJ75 pickup or my 45 Troopy. They drive/steer just like my FJ55 which does have locking hubs.

I'm a little surprised it doesn't have 16" rims (or are you just wanting to go to 15" rims?).

I got 15 inch rims they seem to be sold with both 15inch and 16 inch wheels. Idk, I’ll swap em out if I don’t like it. Yeah, I think the locking hubs are last on my to do list might not end up doing it until I’m really convinced.

Awesome truck!

Loads to learn and I hope you have fun along the way. This forum is great for information, helpful folks and great vendors. If you don't already know the in forum search function is mediocre, I find 100x the info when I search through a web search, IE google: ih8mud.com *search topic*

Cruise On

That’s a cool trick, I remember learning that when I took a power search with Google course in college.

Congratulations on your new fire truck
There’s allot of things you can do with it.
I’m having fun building mine

It has 17 inch on it, 15 were cheap and on sale lol. idk maybe i will switch em out if i don't like it.

Hey LC guru's

I own a 2014 mazda miata club and needed something bigger so i don't show up on a forest service road with my miata lol.
I'm in western North Carolina. I've been really inspired by the fire truck builds on here and trying to grasp as much as possible from the beautiful threads. I'm someone with little to no experience but i hope i get to learn a lot from this build.

Here's a list of things i'm planning on doing to it.
1. GTurbo G333 Titan kit (hdautomotive)
2. PDI front mounted intercooler (hdautomotive)
3. HD Auto Airbox (hdautomotive)
4. Manta 3 inch exhaust (hdautomotive)
5. full parabolic lift kit from terrain tamer
6. uteltd tray, or build my own TBD but may just get the uteltd one.
7. nomad covoy wheels 15 X 7
8. Toyo opat 31X10.5R15LT
9. PDI brake booster with braided lines

In addition to above i think i will need to do some fire truck specific things like
1. replace with factory radiator
2. front axle asin free wheel
3. fuel tank
4. remove pto pump etc.

BIG beautiful project
thank you @JDMBC

I have one of these as well. Mine is a mid 90s truck. Looking for any recommendations on aftermarket aluminum gas tank replacement. Planning on fitting it under the back of the frame where the spare tire was.
