I searched but didn’t find an actual resolution...

Is it possible to source the separate HVAC control from say a 2013 200 in Australia so I can ditch the crappy stock US head unit and run HVAC on its own like they do overseas?

Looks something like this first picture in this thread

2011, without navigation?

From what I’ve read, the harness for HVAC is separate from the stereo, so the non-US controller for HVAC should plug into it? No? I tried to message @beno directly, but this site wouldn’t let me

Lots of background work had been done. But waiting on someone to do it. I will eventually... but not until my head unit dies. I’d rather spend money on fuel.

are you wanting a newer head unit? search for tesla (in the 200 section), there is an aftermarket headunit that works with the HVAC

Yeah, i'm tracking. I don't really want to go that route. I really like the idea of converting mine to the regular stereo and factory HVAC control over those tesla style.

Nothing against them, just doesn't really do it for me.

I agree. I hate waiting for my warning screen to load to change my AC settings. I pine for the days of a good old fashioned dials.

So simple.
