the DIY site didn't have much.

Do you have any other information on the AC? The radio looks fairly easy it is the climate control that concerns me.

This is the only wiring doc I'm seeing for the A/C which could be a good thing.

Also added in the clock diagram. Interesting that it looks like the clock is run off of CAN also.

AC System breakdown for manual and automatic
That is very interesting. Notice that it shows without the multi-display the AC controller does not run on a CAN it runs on a LIN communication line.

This is the first I have seen of that. The LIN shows to come from the F10 AC controller to the AC amplifier. That was the big barrier I saw to getting the AC to work. So it looks like we would need the AC control assembly as shown above. It looks like a few wires would have to be moved from the side switches to the AC control assembly and a F10 plug part # 90980-11911. Repair wires for F10 82998-12690. Repair wires for the Clock plug g1 #82998-12870. Using repair wires instead of trying to crimp terminals will be a big time saver. This would take care of the climate control section. The radio does not look too hard. I think this will be a vehicle by vehicle difference. If there is a rear entertainment that will be different and the bluetooth will be different.

I would like my display just to stay on Radio controls all the time. The navigation screen keeps popping up after a minute.

You can deselect that feature, I don't recall exactly where, found it by accident.

Yeah rear entertainment is a whole 'nother bag of worms. I would think, in regards to Bluetooth and rear entertainment, the ability to switch to a fully functional double din unit would be worth any downside of losing the control of the rear screens from the front. You can always use the RCAs and the remote to still use the roof screen. Plus, bluetooth comes with every new aftermarket headunit anyways.

I agree. Tomorrow I will go through the EWD and check all discrepancies that may arise when removing the Multidisplay. It looks only to effect plugs F27,F28,F29,F30,F31 and F37. It appears the AC amplifiers are the same and just the controllers will change. Maybe we can confirm with @HRTROB

It'll always show the map on the left but the right side of the screen can permanently show the radio/audio.

Ah. I have an 09, the most basic of 200 series multifunction screens. Whatever mode your in takes up the entire screen, and would default back to NAV screen after 1 minute or so, very annoying.

I'll try to check today. Any idea where the AC amplifier is located?

Follow the yellow wire off of your AC control assembly. it will hit a connector in the dash and come out on the other side yellow also. Follow that until it hits a black box. That should be the AC amplifier. Also does your clock show the inside temperature at all?

The clock doesn't show anything besides the time and blinking security light. Can't remember if the "passenger" part is for the seat belt warning, or the airbag off warning (mine doesn't have the switch to turn the airbag off). This is the only daytime photo I have of the clock unit

Is this the AC amplifier? It's located on the passenger side behind the glove box. Can be seen easily by removing the lower panel (no tools required)

I also attached the AC amplifier part numbers for my VDJ200 and US Spec URJ200. There are a couple of part numbers that are present on both types.

EDIT: Yes it's the AC amplifier. 88650-60D71 is what's on my vehicle based on my VIN

I noticed while searching around some climate controls have green, some have blue background. Interesting.

Also, hopefully plugging it in will automatically switch it to Fahrenheit but I doubt it. Might need to find a way to switch it (in old BMWs this is easy), or source a control unit from a country that uses F.

And that clock panel is definitely different. The "Security" LED is on the Multi-display trim and the dual zone temps are up there with a Navi unit. Guess we'll have to add that in to the shopping cart too.

Supposedly the F to C is built into the dash cluster. Was not an issue with the 2006. I see what you are saying about the markings on the clock. When I read the descriptions the only difference is the DVD?

@HRTROB said his has the security feature on the clock. I think he may have the temp lights they just do not light up because he has the temp info on the AC control assembly. Good news is whatever AC amplifier you have now should work with the new controller. There are 2 wires on the clock that I am not sure where they go. The FSM I have is an 09 so there may be some slight differences.

I believe that clock PDF is the only one I saw in my FSM. Might be plug and play since it gets the time settings via CAN on the multi-display 200s. It looks like that clock assembly has buttons to change the time whereas you change the time in the MFD in a Navi equip'd 200. Unless I'm mis-remembering.

That makes total sense. My Lexus changed time on the screen for the clock. The clock looks plug and play but the correct clock must be used I think so you could set the time.
@HRTROB any chance your dash is still open and you can get a photo of the clock part number? Thank you for your help

The climate controls with the blue LCD backlight (with green buttons) are for the 2008-2011 which match the blue instrument cluster backlighting. The 2013-2015 models have green backlighting on the climate control LCD and buttons

Already put the dash back together but according to the online parts diagram,
83910-60190 is what I have on my car based on the VIN. The part number for the 2012-2015 is 83910-60280 and I think the difference in part number is because of the different backlight color on the clock

Looks like this is going to happen.

Looking forward to swapping the front camera to a higher resolution one too. The OEM front camera sucks almost as much as the rear. Seems like a lot of aftermarket headunits can support two camera inputs.
