Good times with @aljollano and everyone!

Beautiful landscape, uncluttered. Fields of various prairie grasses...dotted with Live Oaks. Far enough North and West it looks like to get away from the Cedar Breaks. I really miss that. I grew up in Austin and spent a lot of time traveling Central Texas and the Hill Country. Wife and I are seriously thinking about moving back in the next few years.

How did I not know about this? I'm going to get on AJ and Mauricio for not looping me in!

do you guys run lower tire pressure on these trails for comfort?

I don't know if any one did, but I can tell you it wouldn't be necessary. Not sure the exact route they took but I am familiar with that terrain. Pretty much a 'scenic' trip on unimproved roads...but not rough by any means. The rivers and creek beds (crossings) usually have a solid limestone bottom with some river rock and sediment in places.

A very nice outing and beautiful scenery (if you are used to Texas). I grew up there, so it looks good to me. :)

Sorry for the late reply. As @flintknapper said above, it's not necessary to lower pressures. I do run 24psi front/26psi rear, but that is purely for comfort as there are several washboard/corrugated sections that will rattle your teeth unless you run lower pressure.

For the group run I led, none of us lowered pressures and none of us had any concerns to speak of.

This looks like it was a blast, wish I found this thread sooner. I'm in Austin and would love to hit it up next time! Also, could someone PM me with gpx? I'm curious what the route was.

Found this thread a year later. Any one doing this run or anything near Austin in the coming months?

I'll run it again next month. After Spring Break.
