Quick weekender in Ouray. Town was stacked. Since this was the normal week of FJ summit there were actually more Yota's than Jeeps in town.

Had a little woops going up lower Engineer. The Asfir Front Skid did its job as well. Time for some Trail Tailor LCA skids.

Replaced the blower motor as there was a crack in the housing of the OEM one, and it made an obnoxious sound on high. Also unboxed the TJM T17 bumper getting it ready for install. Seemed like it was very well packaged. I was curious what the welds on the bumper were going to look like and was a little surprised at how good they looked. Not the same quality as Trail Tailor or I would imagine Slee or Dissent, but consistent and even.

The bumper was packed well and with some huge styrafoam blocks 1.5' cubed probably.

I would say it weighs about 65-75 pounds but seems well designed and sturdy for a light to medium wheeler.

Removing the winch plate, my wife walked in while I was doing this and sighed then said "modifying it ALREADY?"

Touched it up with a bit of sand paper and some brushed on paint.

OEM bumper removed and winch plate install.

I did have to drop the front of the skid plate to install and it is going to have to sit about a 1/3 of an inch lower. I also installed the bolts for the back of the winch plat upside down to help with fitment and the Asfir skid.

Mounting horns for the bumper on. I had to drill out two of the capture nuts on the front of the frame and get some longer bolts and nuts. Broke my stretch of not going to the hardware store. First time in 4 months.

This is what the winch plate looks like.

Couple more install pics of the TJM T17 front bumper.

I found it necessary to cut these bolts with tabs down to get them in the ends of the frame.

Had to mount the winch relay box above the motor and backwards in order to be able to plug in the controller from the access point.

The last time I will be using these jack-stands. 😏

More Hanukkah in August, than Christmas in July. Every day it's a new present! It's looking good. We need to get the rigs together before all the passes close, my friend.

Definitely man, we may try and hit up Bolam in the next few weeks. Maybe try and get a condo at Purg for a couple of nights. How's the BJ coming along?

I could be up for some Bolam Pass action. If I can get the parking brake fixed on the 40 by then, I'll bring that. Otherwise the 60 could always get out and stretch it's legs. Regarding progress on the BJ... progress is occurring! :BUILDS: Blinded by the diesel, wrapped up like a duece - 1975 BJ40 - Cheap, significant progress on the lighting all 'round.
