I clicked through the pages quickly hoping to see a rig with 8 headlights. You have failed sir. At least get some faux wood grain going or something.

Nice 100 man. That front bumper is really clean and tidy.

OBA hose storage. Started with a metal ammo can but it was too hot to handle after being in the engine bay for a a while.

Bumping this post. Wanted to see how the air compressor is holding up mounted in the engine bay and how you wired it up :) Please advise.
Air compressor is great in the engine bay, I just have the stock alligator clips on it now,. When I replace the radiator I am going to do a different configuration with the battery and hardwire it.

Thanks, I let the wife in her 460 be the Wood Grain Warrior, LOL

New Mexico Schools are literally the worst (like 51 of 50 states), which was very evident in the first semester of the year with the "remote" learning model. That being said my wife opted to do a traditional home schooling program which means I gladly get more time as the "Shop" and "PE" teacher. Once the garage warms up we will be replacing the radiator etc. For now been working on smaller projects like tracking down a P0500 when the truck is cold. First things first is replacing the VSS on the T-case/center dif.

One of the first lessons is don't get get gear oil on your hands.

Old VSS, not as bad as I though it would be.

Didn't resolve the P0500, so we will be doing process of elimination. Checking fuses and pulling the gauge cluster.
Pulled the gauge cluster and cleaned everything up then reinstalled it.. This finally resolved the P0500 VSS check engine light which made the speedo not work on cold days. These connectors are a PITA, took a couple tries to get it right.

I never had a functioning antenna and I was tired of constantly losing radio signal around town and don't usually run the bluetooth music on short errands {cough} gas station. So one of the stubby antennas from Masts R Us was in order. I had completely mangled the old one and just shoved it back in to cover the hole basically. The hardest part was getting that out.

This was all that was left of the original antenna.

Its all over the board but here is the part number and what they send you.

That's a pretty clean option. I bet it would work for us 80 folks too. I did the "Tacoma whip antenna" mod on mine.

@phatdragon I may need to borrow that contraption and get a couple of pointers, like the old school days on west 2nd :) my 60 has a few hail damage dings that would pop right out with this thing I bet!

You are more than welcome to borrow it. There is also a larger "bridge" for bigger dents.

Great build! Nice inspiration for those of us with black hundos. I love seeing your various adventures too!

How is your plastidip on the hood holding up? Still thinking about switching to vinyl in the future?

Thanks, Plastidip is holding up well. That being said I would do vinyl if i do it again, the Plastidip is hard to get it to look really even.

Using the bridge on some larger dents, this is the beginning of the booty refresh.

And then on to some dip peeling

Followed by removal of the old emblems. I used a little heat gun (don't get carried away), dental floss, child labor and Goo-off.

In the middle of the emblem ordeal this happened.

Somehow the garage door did not go all the way up and when I went to pull out the high lift jack caught the metal part of the door seal and started ripping it off. Making the most horrendous noise like what I imagine the jaws of life sound like. In my haste to find out what the hell happened, I didn't get the rig all the way in park and so it started to roll back as I was getting out. Getting back in my flip-flop slipped off the brake pedal and pealed the door backwards. wait for it...

ON MY WIFES GX! Which takes Toyota 10 days to fix due to the 3 stage paint yada yada. I'll never live this one down.

I'm not blaming anyone but my own dumb-ass but I am not wearing flip flops out of the house again. I actually have security cam footage of the entire event, just need to pull it from the hard drive.

Dang, Brad. Surprised you didn't hit me up for a couch to crash on. That's some serious dumbassery. Sorry, man. I was backing the 40 out of the garage yesterday, navigating around the trash can, and almost hit the 60. I would have cried.

That toyota emblem does look good silver, though :flipoff2:

Hurts to look at. That's a serious bummer, man

What's even worse is I had to "self clearance" the door to be able to get in and out without squeezing in. Thankfully we were able borrow my father in laws truck for a couple weeks for her to drive. I think I'll get my wife a reasonably nice rental while the hundo is in the shop.
