@LandCruiserPhil

You should include an option on your site for those of us who are electrically challenged to buy the whole package (fan, brackets, and wiring for dummies) ;)

Did you miss post #93;)

There are many ways to wire an AUX fan some more complicated than others.

With that said our goal is 100% plug and play requiring 1 banana and no electrical knowledge for an successful installation.

100% Plug and Play Wiring Kit has 2 options, power with or without key on or off to keep it simple.

No worries on leaving the fan on if you choose the key on power option.

Will be available by the end of the week.

Any questions?

Questions?

Helped a customer do an install so I could get some pictures to help the installation for others. Installation time was 1hr 20min start to finish time including a few stories.:) The owner choose a 'key on' option for fan power and operation. Something that can be changed to 'always power' in less than 2 minutes using no tools. Very happy with the seamless 100% plug & play kit ending in a very clean trouble free installation.

Vehicle - 2006 LC completely outfitted with all top quality accessories and parts.
Owners complaint - AC blowing warm after sitting in the AZ sun:eek:

I am the customer that Phil refers to above. First I must thank Phil for helping with the installation in exchange for taking the photos to create an installation instruction sheet for the kits. The kit is exceptional in that very thing needed for installation is included even down to the zip ties. I went with the kit that comes with the third party fan. From everything I could tell, the fan is very robust and an exact copy of the factory fan, but 100 dollars less. The two most difficult things in the installation are lining up and drilling of the bracket hole and finding a location to pass the wires, for both the power and switch, through the firewall and into the cabin. A lot of time and thought has gone into creating this accessory upgrade to the A/C system. Here in Phoenix where the temps in the summer get up to 110+ for days on end, the lack of cooling shows up even when stopped at a long traffic light. Without air blowing across the A/C condenser coils, the unit cannot keep up and starts to blow hot air. Once the vehicle is moving the system starts to cool off and blow cold air again. If stopped even for a minimal amount of time at these ambient temperatures it seems the A/C systems cooling cuts out. The fan continues to blow, but cooling stops till movement of the vehicle causes air to flow over the condenser coils. Once forward motion is achieved it takes a very short time for the cooling to come back.
Here in Arizona instances like stopping to air up or down while say a passenger or pet sit in the vehicle are moments, when the A/C quits cooling and only hot air via the fan, comes out of the vents, making it very uncomfortable for those inside. What this kit does is it causes air to continue to flow across the coils, even when forward motion is halted. Thus keeping the A/C systems cooling operational. You can set it up to run and turn off with the key. Or you can set it up to only operate manually via the switch on/off. In both instances, the accessory fan system can be cut off completely with the switch. Say during cooler times of the year when it is not really necessary. In my case, I went with the keyed engine mode, so as to not accidentally leave it on. The fan is extremely quiet and it would be easy to walk away and leave the fan on.
All in all the kit is of exceptional quality and value for anyone operating or planning to operate their vehicle in 90 to 120+ temperatures and wanting to achieve constant performance out of their A/C system.
Great job, Phil

Just like it should have come from the assembly line...was a little tight drilling my hole and tightening the side bracket bolt/nut.

Simple enough installation...now on to wiring the sucker up!

Anyone find a good spot to splice into the ac circuit? I'll wire up a switch if I have to but would prefer to tap.

A few Plug N' Play installation tips.

Installing fan bushings - Place the rubber spacer at the bottom and invert the rubber bushing. Should look like the picture when done.:)

Locating where to drill the bracket hole is easily done by mounting the fan removing the fan side bushing and pressing the fan and marking the center with a sharpie. Using an awl mark where you will be drilling your hole. Use a ~1/8 bit to begin with (smaller bits are much easier to start given the slight angle you are working with) then up size to 5/16". If you miss the alignment of your hole and bracket it can be drilled oversize without any future problems.

Start your fish wire from the engine compartment into the cab. Lay your P-N'-P harness to the side of your fish wire and tape in a tapered way will make pulling easier.

Once you have your harness in the engine bay run your fish wire from the switch location to the under dash and connect the harness and pull into the switch location.

Installing the piggy back fuse. In most late model LC/Lx470 there is an open 'switched' space in the kick panel fuse block. If you do not have an open fuse spot pick any fuse 'Switched' or always hot fuse and install the piggy back fuse facing the front of the vehicle as seen in the picture.
