From one veteran to another - awesome thread!! Gotta love the wheelin and dealin:clap:

I have been doing the same Budget Cruiser for 7 years now and you were lucky to start off with a lifted truck. It took me over 5 years to finally lift mine. But now your budget ways are all going out the window with the bumper and the end is near for you my friend. But you will have one Kick A$$ BUMPER!

I would bet some of that missing $ went into shipping to; CDAN, SLEE & BUD Built.

How is the hood holding up with that stuff?

Sounds like you got a really good deal on the truck to begin with. Is it locked? If it is I would say it was a $7-8k truck to start with. Looks great too!

I wish. I'm unlocked and looking into an Aussie locker. Thanks for the compliment!

You are right about shipping money, good call.

The hood is holding up well, but I miss the plain hood. I'd line to repaint all one solid color, probably the desert dune.

Just wanted to post that I ordered my red neck skid! should be here next week. Also dropped my sliders off for some beefing up!

Put my deposit down with Sean!!! So stoked for my bumper.

Also got a line on a budget snorkel. Won't disclose source yet, should be about $100 picked up. Stay tuned....

I have to do something about my hood paint, can you post some better shots of your plasitdip? I was pretty set on just a standard flat black, but plasidip is a possible option I hadnt considered.

Sure ill try and get some tomorrow. I really only used plastidip to see if I liked the look, I've decided I like it and want a permanent solution. I Will line the center when I line the sides of the rig.
In the few months I've had it, it's held up alright but wouldn't last longer than 6 months or so.

This is from about a week ago. You can see where it has faded, could be fixed with another coat I'm sure.

thanks for the feedback, dont worry about the pictures. I have a sweet decal lined up to put on the hood so I need a permanent paint solution.

Nice thread, and nice 80. That gives me an idea when I start to build my wifes 80.:princess: Yeah, It's hers, and we're new to the 80 series. I've got to admit, they are great vehicles. I've got a 40 that I'm working on.:D

Great thread!
I thank you for your service!
Take advantage of the education benefits while you can.
My CSB bonus started my build, but now I'm in budget mode.
Keep us posted... good stuff.
