Was just cruising down the highway and accidentally knocked shifter into R. Car shut off and I pulled over. Turned back in and I got off the highway. I did a quick scan and PO750 Shift solenoid A and PO770 shift solenoid E.
Gonna get it towed this weekend, but can anyone give me a heads up on what I’ve done…? Sweating it a little right now and kinda sad haha.

Is the shift lock not working how did this happen?
I guessing the transmission is toast 😳

Yeah I’m wondering how it happened too, maybe my foot was slightly on the brake or something and it shifted. But I was messing with a wire being dumb and it went.

Toasted transmission sounds like worst case…anyone knows what that fix and replacement will run me these days ?

About a month ago I payed $3500 for a complete rebuild including torque converter on a 1996 A343. I’m assuming yours is a 95-97 model what with the “P” codes you pulled.

Have you attempted to drive it since the incident?

Did you try it back in Drive?
Some call it the "party trick" or "Rodney flush". Search MUD for those terms.

Yes I tried to drive it after the incident happened. It would work for a little, then maybe get too hot or deep into gears and then would slip out and nothing would happen, it wouldn’t drive or reverse.
I’d shut it off let it cool down, then I could move again after that…but back to slipping and nothing shortly after.

Sounds like a good excuse to swap in a manual transmission..

Why not start with the simple things?
Have you checked the fluid level?
How often have you changed transmission fluid?
What's the condition of the fluid?

It's possible that the sudden reverse knocked some crap loose and plugged up the filter. Especially if you've never changed the fluid.
I would drop the pan and inspect before going any further.
