How much gear oil do I need for everything? (1 Viewer)

I’m wanting to do a full gear oil service, both axles, Tcase and gear box. So how much will I need for all?

Also if there’s a brand that would help with gear whine I’d like to hear about it.

The chassis service manual has the fluid quantities in it. I don't have a '73 manual, but the '75-'80 manual lists, in US quarts,
Transmission
4-speed: 3.3
3-speed: 1.8
Transfer: 1.8
Front differential: 2.6
Rear differential: 2.6

If there's any difference, it'll be less.

I have done a bunch of searching and discovered some of the other series had a thread dedicated to their fluid capacities as well as types of reccomended fluids for their vehicles. I may be mistaken but did not see that for the 40. So here is what I comiled from one of the "more useful"...
