How many miles per tank of gas?

Since I only drive to the airport and back, which is 75 miles away,.. I only drive highway.
I have partial cage, 10k winch 3" lift and stock gears with 35s. I am getting 240 when the light comes on, which corrected is 264 (going by gps, road markers and my cop cousins with radar gun, I am EXACTLY 10% off on speedo/odo.). Longest I have gone without fueling is an additional 50+ miles (nervous the entire way)and dumped 23 gallons of gas in the tank.
Worked out to a monstrous (drum-roll please.....) 13.47 mpg.

Ymmv.

Still trying to see if I can get one of my State dept buds to bring back a Diesel 105 to buy.

I'm on 285's, no conversion for math, but I get about 250-300/tank. Right now on winter blend in the city I get around 10-11 mpg, awesome for the checkbook.

I run 265/75/16 BFG AT KO's. Bone stock truck. Most baselining complete.

I drive mostly in town (18 mile roundtrip commute) - all side roads with no highways. Most of my 80 driving also occurs in the winter due to use of motorcycle in the summer.

I fill right around 250 miles everytime using about 20 gallons. Averaging 12.5 mpg. I have tracked this from day 1 of my ownership and my overall average is 13 mpg. On the occassion I get on the highway I see a slight tick up in mileage.

Cheap Scottish bugger !!, damn you Jamie and your 460 miles !!!
I've a 96 LX450, ARB up front with a warn m12000 , welded on IPOR sliders and rear IPOR bumper, stock rims with 285/75/16 BFG ATs and the stock rim and tyre mounted in spare place (yeah I know, no idea why its still there) Just weighed it today on local state trooper scales , 5720 lbs, this is with a full tank of petrol and nothing inside, not even me. I just filled it up after running with the empty light on for about 15 miles (pucker factor) and it took 22.408 gallons. Unfortunately I had not reset the odometer last time cos it read 397 miles, typically I get 260 miles on odometer before it gets to empty, (btw foreign friends, for mid grade, this cost me $3.20/gallon, total of $71.68 to fill her up) Lately I am getting 11.2 mpg but this is not adjusting for larger tyros.

Haha, I might get 450 miles but it cost me £110 ($175...) to fill up today from the warning light.

83 litres at £1.32 a litre
21 gallons at £5 ($8 a gallon)

Just as well my Audi TDI daily driver does 45 mpg even if you thrash it. :)

When I used to actually track my fuel mileage, stock gears and 35's and 4" lift I was getting any where from 9-14 MPG depending on driving conditions.
Every once and awhile I will track mpg's just to make sure nothing has dropped off or is different.

240 miles normally, 275 max on the main tank...getting around 11mpg average these days (corrected) with my overweight, lifted and modded truck. Have finished adding the subtank last month, and that changes the whole game...$140 for a fill-up, ouch! At least I can now go over 400 miles between fill-ups.

Petrol 80 owners are a very special breed. The fuel bill is basically a car payment but we still love it. Wouldn't have anything else.

Stock truck...I'm getting 15.4 mpg when calculating the fill up by the amount of miles...300 miles or so when hitting the last line on th guage...no light illuminated though, so that works out to be a bout 19-20 gallons...To in theory I could get 350-375...thats been mixed highway and bebopping around on short runs...I also drive the speed limit...

So how far below the "empty" line does the needle go before the light comes on?
I've never seen mine. I'm afraid to suck up any of the crud that must be lurking in the bottom of the tank!

i get 13 and doesnt seem to matter if its highway or city running 285s

I'm looking for the gas station at 275 miles.

I don't how many miles per gallon, and really I'm scared to find out. I go about 165-170 and that's with 1/4 tank left, most driving city and stop and go. So, if someone out there want to give the bad news about my mileage, go ahead, tell me..:eek::eek:

So I filled up today it took 16.8 gallons. I was just a hair above 1/4 tank when I filled up. So r u guys really driving ur LC that low on gas. I have always been told not to drive below 1/4 tank as it makes ur fuel pump work harder and can cause it to go bad early.

I have been averaging 14 mpg for the past year with a mix of city and highway driving. Mostly stock.

350

At ~300 miles my low fuel light typically comes on.

When it stays on on level ground, i've got 4 gallons left (so 50-60 more miles), and then plan when to fill up accordingly.

96 lx450, mostly stock.

My stock 97 fzj80 with stock tires gets 15-16mpg or somewhere over 300 miles to an empty tank (21gallons?). Doesn't seem to matter if it's freeway or around town. I just put on 33'' tires and we'll see how that affects things after adjusting.
