I realize this is a dumb question- and yes, I searched the forum before asking- but how do I tell if my 40 is lifted? I know that it was totally reworked 15-20 years ago with a SBC and 4-speed conversion, and the guy I purchased it from sait he thought it might have been lifted at the time.

How do I tell?

post some pics and let us guess

How does it compare to others you have seen?

How many leaves are in the pack? Are there some fatter leaves in the mix? How long are the shackles? Somethimes there is a number or manufacture on the spring pack. What sizes tires are on it?

.....and it's got a bad a$$ manual throtle!

The girl in the passenger side has been lifted as well

Hey, that's my daughter!

Seriously, I'll post some pics, check the number of leaves, shackle length and check for markings on the leaves and post it all up so you guys can at least have something to go on for an educated guess.

Also, I had grits for breakfast today.

Looks to be lowered to me, does it have hydraulics?........whoop whoop.......

Well, now that you ask, it does have separate hydraulic cylinders on each wheel, controlled by a big red button on the dash... but I haven't pressed it yet, so I don't know what they do. Also, when I hit the horn its plays La Cuccaracha. The guy I purchased it from said it was from East LA. I assume he meant eastern Louisiana....
