how do i remove the ebrake cable from the lever? is it possible or is it one whole assembly?

There are two nuts on the end of the cable attached to the handle under the boot. There is also a small metal tab that helps hold the cable in place flat against the arm, you just have to bend that tab up a bit. If you need to remove the cable housing itself it is then attached to the bottom of a rectangular cup (forget the real name) which is bolted to the floor. There are 3-4 prongs on the end of the cable assembly that need to be pushed inward from inside the cup before the cable assembly will pull out of the cup from below.

whats the best way to get those prongs pushed in? do they need to be pushed in at the same time someone is pulling from below? working alone right now so cant do both at the same time myself.

nevermind, got it. thanks for help

IIRC I used a small flat bladed screw driver to push the prongs/fingers in one at a time while pushing the cable assembly out until it popped free.

i went the opposite way. expanded the prongs so i could slide it up and over the cable.

Are you replacing the cable, was it damaged on the other end?
