Anza is absolutely huge. I’ve been going there for 30+ years. 👍🏽
Wow…that’s a long time. Eastern sierras And big bear in the summer.

Working on more lipstick for the pig.

A big shout out to this video for guiding me and pushing me to do it myself instead of going to a vinyl wrap shop. And I’ve only done one piece of trim so far. Lol, but I have to work on my real job now…

I'm still trying to decide if I want to do that or not. If I did, I'm not sure what color I would go with, either. The stock tan interior is already like 3 different colors, and my new seat covers didn't help. Plus, my 'Wood Grain Warrior' roof rack wouldn't make sense... :)

Vinyl wrapping is taking a little longer than I thought. I've completed all 4 doors, the shifter, and the two front trim pieces. I have the most difficult pieces left which are the center console and around the navigation screen. I'm going to procrastinate on those for a little while. I'm gonna go hybrid mode like everything else nowadays.

I'll take pictures when it's daytime.

just the middle needs some carbon fiber…I had done a black leather wheel wrap a while back

While I ponder getting rigid metal molle panels, I created my own soft molle panel for when I sleep inside the GX470.

Made my own cheapy bracket with the left over Home Depot tie strap that I used for the rock light brackets.

I put one soft molle panel on each quarter window to hold my flashlight, keys, glasses, wallet, iPhone, and anything I need within easy reach.

I also bought two soft molle shoe packs to hang outside from roof rack next to exit door so my shoes/sandals are within easy access.

And the camouflaged trasharoo bag next to the rotopax blends into the terrain so well that I was wondering if I had the trasharoo on.

Experimenting with a DIY tarp and poles to provide sun and rain cover. I still need to figure out things on the guy lines.

Got the $55/pair green elephant poles at amazon. The rest are spare parts I had lying around. The tarp is a white side wall from my Costco 10x10 commercial pop up canopy. It’s 6.5’ by 10’

Bungee cords I had laying around. Grommets from my camping gear. Metal stakes from my camping tent. Parachord rope for guylines.

I did buy some redcamp suction cups to hold the corners of the tarp but returned them. They had a sticky glue substance and it got sand in it when I dropped them and they would not work anymore.

I instead ordered these 2.4” dent puller suction cups. I hope they work out better than those redcamp sticky suction cups.

Well, on my way to my brothers place in San Diego, I stopped at mission bay to test the white tarp. The wind almost ripped it apart.

I tried the silver one and it’s holding better but the wind died down a little. Waiting for wind to pick up. Wind is a tarp/awning killer! Lol

Looking good!

What's the wind situation where you camp in SoCal? 🤔

*Edit*

Lol, I commented.after.readimg.#329,.then read #330. 🤣🤙

Carry on! 🫡

Recently, my friend broke the front end link and the sway bar ripped apart the cv boot/axle. I already knew that both my front end links had torn rubber seals, so I needed to replace. I ended up getting all 4 from OCD (Overland Custom Designs aka MStudt). I didn't need the rear, but all 4 were $250 plus $20 shipping.

One bolt was stuck and PB Blaster wasn't able to loosen it. I also tried to use an Allen key and a wrench, but that didn't work. I had to rip one rubber bushing and hold the rod with pliers while using a breaker bar to remove the nut.

Front is done...rear will be done later since I have a fairly new proforge set of rear end links for 4runner that are 1" longer than stock.

Finished the rear end links today/Sunday. And notice how one bushing on the Proforge end links was already cracked. It’s not that old….new in August 2019, so about 2.5 years old.

Well…I bought the eimkeith PCK bracket to level the panhard bar.

Even though I’m only lifted like 2” in the rear and only felt the rear pull like a couple times in 5 years…I decided to spend money on that bracket.

$100 for bracket plus labor to install of about $150 (estimated).

I’m trying to schedule appointment. I’ll post the before and after pictures once it’s done.

Here’s the before. It’s level with axle on drivers side but about two inches higher on passenger side.

I'm running the DuroBumps. They are great, and you'll pretty much never get that jarring "hit" sensation out of them. I'm sure active bumpstops are nicer, but for my GX the Duros have done a very nice job and are relatively inexpensive.

At today’s prices, front durobumps $135 including shipping and no upfront tax.

Timbren active bumpstops for the front are $226 plus upfront tax and it’s close to $249 including tax and free shipping.

Wheelers Superbumps are the other option for the front. Those were priced somewhere in between ($158 including shipping and tax).

OEM front bumpstops are the cheapest, but hard as a rock.

I have wheelers and am happy with them so far. They're similar to the durobumps. You can buy 2 front sets if you get wheelers since you don't need the mount in the rear with a bump stop extension. Also if you message them they will give you a discount code but its also posted on T4R somewhere as well
