Just as long as I dont look like the VW in the crown king thread:D

I plan on coming to this run...Not sure about the caravaning yet, but if I do I will post up...

thanks

Unfortunately the lady and I could not get off work so were are out.

You guys have fun and be safe.

Richard

Depending on how hungover I am, I may be able to make this run. Of course, I may end up being a passenger if things continue in the same direction with my rig. She's definitely starting to show her age.

Just verifying we're still on for this weekend... ?? ...and all this is still correct.

"December 30th

Meet at the Oracle Circle K at 8 a.m. for airdown and an 8:30 pull out.
CB 4"
...assuming that you mean the Circle K on Golder Ranch/Oracle?
Later,
Chad

Have there been directions posted?? I may have missed it, still about 70/30 if I will make it.

The town of Oracle Chad! We're running from Oracle to Catalina. The first post has a map to the Circle K in Oracle.

Always welcome!! :flipoff2:

Not much in the way of doing part of it, unless you want to go back the way you came.

I think once you get started, you'll want to go the long haul.

Thanks. I am not familiar with that trail and was wondering if you could only do a part of it so it was not such a long day. It looks like there are several other 80s so I assume an 80 is good on this trail. Thanks agian

You're welcome to come along, but there is no where to bail out of this trail. You would have to just turn around and head back out the way we came and all the best stuff on this run is from about the 1/2 way point on.
Come along Mike, it'll be fun! Bring the family, no reason to leave them behind. My wife and 5yr old daughter will be there.

It a great, fun trail for an 80. But not knowing your wheeling experience or rig, my minimum recommendation would be at least one step oversize tires and 2"+ lift. If your familiar with the Wells books, he rates it #70 in difficulty among the 75 trails he lists in AZ. His books list relatively easy/moderate trails, but this one places near the top of that list. It's ~20 miles of dirt with plenty of obstacles, I would plan to be airing up at sundown, if not with a flashlight, it's an all day trail.

Not trying to scare you away, just some reality. Your welcome to come and bring the family if they want. If you not comfortable driving, you will probably not have a problem finding a seat to ride in.

Here are some pix from last year, some of the lines, obstacles pictured are optional.

The Rover guys say it can be done in 5-7 hours and they have their hoods open half the time.

I've done it in 5-1/2 with just 2 rigs and we didn't do any obstacles and we didn't spend much time out of the rigs. I'd rather spend 8-10 hours doing it and having more fun. rover guys

I will bet that you and I can Baja it in under 3 hours, what's your point?:flipoff2:
